  1. We all are expected to walk that straight line to Las Vegas to put our poker money in real casinos, real dealers, and real rake. All because Bill Frist, decided to put a couple lines in a bill most likely the result of his 10th or 12th largest campaigned contributor Harrah's. To make a long story short I take down iron man freeroll, win it. Take down bronze and silver heads-up freeroll and head to Trader Joes for a 1/2 pound of smoked salmon to celebrate the win with my full tilt t-shirt on. I get to the checkout and a worker, notices the t-shirt and we take up a conservation and I seem a little giddy and told of my win and I think he announces to the crowd in line this guy just won 5K playing online poker. Little shy and embarrassed, most in line seem happy. But, one of the older ladies in line a bit overweight comes up to me did you pay taxes on it. I humbly reply yes, I will and did pay taxes on it. BTW, took down the three pros for 100K and ended up beaming the IRS 30K in taxes, living the last couple years car less hoping not to have to close out the rest of my IRA. I had the Sonny Bono moment. Being a bleeding heart liberal all his life. Sonny had the moment when he wanted to start a business and couldn't get a permit to get it started. He got frustrated, ran for mayor and fired the guy that did not give him a permit. He became a republican leader before ultimately dying in a skiing accident. I finally hitting the win, and the first thing the government types want is 1/2 of it to pay for their bloated pensions and salaries. These pensions amount to about 40K a year in additional salary. So here I am nearly broke paying over 50% to the government for what? Nothing! They all want to live like City of Bell officials. So to answer your post "shared sacrifice" I think you are being sarcastic. There is no shared sacrifice, the government is there not to provide you services but to steal money from people that work. You can spend the money yourself to buy electricity, fire service, trash disposal, or education.
  2. About 2 years ago I use to post on this board as a left wing democrat. Anyways Is it time to end the post office? They have been running deeply in the red and would it not be better if they were a tax payer and pay corporate taxes rather than pay no taxes and live rent free on government owned land. We could sell the post office, collect corporate tax, and charge rent to use the post offices to the highest bidder. Is it time to allow people to buy products from non-union shops. I try to go into Fresh and Easy and these union types are out there protesting for the right to take over the company, steal the shareholders money, and install a union shop on the premises. The store is presently beautiful with low prices and great quality. Why not shut down NPR and PBS and turn tax problems into tax payers? Why not give social security recipients the choice of medicare or the option to get the cash, about $10,000 a year. Seems the left is living a lie, they complain about ceos and stockholders making all the money, yet in the scope of things 95% of the revenues go to the employees, 5% to profits and CEOs. The problem is people have no moral hazzard of not saving, so they don't they spend yet they think they have the right to savers money. Just think how rich you would be if you didn't have to pay taxes. Instead you live in poverty, to paint the fences of Federal workers. How about fire the federal workers and let them paint their own fence. State and Federal workers are just a large group of con men, stealing from those with money to pay themselves so they don''t have to work for themselves. They all should be indicted like the City of Bell employees.
  3. The government is at fault. It is legal to play on Foreign online poker sites. If I remember correctly it may be legal for sites to transfer money from the poker sites to your bank account (UIGEA only covered money going the other way). Did FTP and PS shut their sites down to U.S. players, or did the government shut their sites down? "The companies took about a third of the payments as their cut for hosting the poker games, the DOJ said." Las Vegas takes far more! Online poker is far cheaper and safer. The rakes are $3 per hand online and $1.50 after rakeback and bonuses, while casinos often charge over $5 a hand to play poker. The tournament rake for a $50 tournament is usually 10% or less. The average $50 tournament rake in casino in the United States is over 20%, and that does not include the expected dealer tips. Online fees would be far lower that they currently are without government intervention. "The two companies also paid a vice president there a $20,000 bonus for his assistance." What about the $1,000,000,000,000 assistance the Fed and government gave to banks and GM. "PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker agreed to invest $10 million in SunFirst Bank, a small bank in Saint George, Utah, the DOJ alleged." What if they invested in AAPL? There are tons of money managers and CEOs that invest in banks to get loans. "US$3 billion in civil money-laundering penalties and forfeiture from the poker companies and the defendants, the DOJ said." What is the criminal act, transferring money from legal activities to those which it belonged? Why didn't they warn the sites that they were doing something illegal? If they knew they were doing something illegal they would have stopped poker long ago. They stopped poker in several states because they knew it was illegal. What warnings did the DOJ give to the poker sites that they were doing something illegal?
  4. Haven't listened to much music lately then the movie came out "Get Him to the Greek". Anyways I was wondering if anyone likes this band too. Russell Brand was the host of SNL last week. Going Up Live Inside of You African Child

  6. If you go into any casino today you can get a win loss statement of your slot gambling if you use your card. It makes your taxes easier to do. Does anyone know if Full Tilt Poker or Pokerstars offer something like this?

  15. This is for Full Tilt $1000 tourney tonight. I will add a little money to make it interesting. $15 for 1st, $10 for 2nd, and $5 for 3rd. You pick 10 horses, example johnnybax. Points will be awarded 28 minus the finish spot for the sum of all your entries. Thus if johnnybax finishes 3rd, you get 28-3 or 25 points for that horse. You add up all ten horses and get a score. Contest entries close at 9:15 EST. Winners will get paid by player transfer at FTP only. If someone wants more to donate to the prize pool please state so. No points for worse than 27th finish. Please put in list like below if possible: 1. sdadas 2. 232133 3.a2131312 4. johnnybax 5.3131313 6.sadadad 7. 32432342 8. jse99 9. passivejeff 10. eekamouse
  16. I think a good business might be a metals exchange. Where you can buy-sell copper-zinc-gold-aluminum-zinc-nickle as inflation hedges. A small shop could be networked into a national chain. There is gold vending machine that makes 50K profit a month I think. However, a live shop should do better. When I was a kid in the 1970s minigolf courses, outdoor movies, and bowling alleys were everywhere. I have fond memories of these places. I really feel sorry for the youth of today.
  17. 3rd year terms of presidents are always bullish. That with some stocks still undervalued, imho will lead to 20% gains. GLD and SLV might correct to $10 per ounce for silver. Real estate is still a great long term investment however it will probably be flat for year, but I think it will clearly show real estate is at bottom.
  18. I really think if you do the math the most ideal poker spot is Manhattan Beach/Redondo Beach/Hermosa Beach California. If you rent it is not too bad. You have online and you have quick access to Hustler/Normandie/Hollywood Park/TheBike/Commerce casinos. Quick access to catch a flight to Las Vegas too. Sebok I think has a place on the water I think in Redondo. Ontario or Inland 1 mile might be cheaper. Florida might be cheaper overall.
  19. Well I would keep my eye on the cpi or this site. There is a catch 22. You need a bankroll to play higher stakes and you will lose your money to inflation. I will choose to play high stakes. However, we now have a republican house and a yes man president. What that means is they are going to get tough on spending. Thus, I expect a lot less wanton spending the next 2 years. The democrats still have expiring tax cuts to perform some spending as a blackmail to pay off the crooks that financed them into office. Ron Paul is the only answer.
  20. If I remember right the best bang for your points are ftops tournaments. Even converting your medals to ftps and using them for FTOPS seems to be the best deal. $26 and $75 tokens are not bad either.
  21. I am trying to think of ones I thought were pretty cool these have been done: Tom Cruiser Here are some I would do: End The Fed Inflation Tax Helicopter Ben Electric Gold White Lightning White Buffalo Clueless Congress No Mistake ABout It Jack Blackjack
  22. The post office operated break-even or at a profit for years/decades. I think this year they were suppose to raise rates, but they were stopped. The solution is very easy, increase postage rates until it is break even. It is not suppose to be operating at a loss. G.W. Bush increased the pay of the post office tops. They should fire those fools and go back to low cost labor possible. Using the post offices for a health care clinics could save tons of money for the taxpayers too. Health care is more important that firefighting or libraries that are also government run. Imho , it is as important as the military. The problem is your not white, the problem is they are communist. If you would be willing to do the job for lower amount than their current staff, you should be getting the job. Your either qualified or not. If you are qualified, they imho must give you the right to work there at a competitive price.
  23. We only elect a senate on the moon. We are human, and vote via computer. We are not members of the United States, however the #1 comedy show is CSPAN. We all get drunk and bet when the USA is going to destroy itself. We are waiting for the ashes so we can go down and buy the whole thing on the cheap, it will make a nice park.
  24. October 25th Debate. http://www.youtube.com/user/CSPANJUNKIEd0tORG#p/u/2/O9tnXpB8he4 Minute 11:02 Presidents Obama 2 trillion dollar deficit. The facts are the deficit is 100% the result of president Bush and Reagans unfunded spending and tax cuts. Bush started with a 2.1 trillion budget and left with a 3 trillion budget (with no new revenues). When the economy was in expansion we were still running deficits. Clinton left with a surplus, in expansion, he did so with pay as you go and cutting government. To blame Obama for $2 trillion in debt, is not even factual, Obamas 1st budget year just ended September 30, 2010. Cutting 0.3 trillion off the deficit he inherited. Listen to the anger in his voice. So he is against cap and trade (does he believe in global warming), abortion (even in cases or rape and incest), end and reduce mine safety regulations (ever wonder why overall our mines are so safe), supports a flat tax to simplify the regulations (why not just eliminate capital gains, all deductions, all exemptions, and all credits. Figuring out your tax bracket is not hard), 77,000 rebate checks were sent to dead people (500,000 people die every month), he was against the bank bailout (that Bush signed and the banks have already paid back - and probably saved complete collapse of stocks and economy), supports coal (over solar?).
