  3. Every time I check back in to OT, there's a new Buchsbaumy thread to view(I don't check in often anymore). Crazy shit every time. Thanks Paul for the entertainment. Good luck
  4. I love Obama, taxes, unions and free healthcare!!! Long live King Barack Hussein Obama!! He's turned into an even bigger train wreck than I ever imagined. Kind of amazing

  8. lol. Time flies. You were there for the birth of one my sons(I don't remember which)
  9. I'm planning my next ATV adventure. Anybody been to this trail system in West Virginia? Here's a video clip from our last ATV trip. This was Brimstone in TN. The ATV rolls 21 times
  10. I agree with raise this that my situation is not the norm, however it's much more common, especially in road construction than most people realize. My situation is what happens when the pendulum has swung too far in labor's direction
  11. Dumbass, I own union companies
  12. Standard union intimidation. I bring 2 german shepherds with me to work EVERY Day. In part, for a little protection.
  13. I used to make 200k+annually. Now I'm making 65k. I've got a house and 3 boys under 5, so I've got many growing costs. I've downsized significantly in both my companies. Still losing money. I'm doing 1/5th the annual revenue I was 5 years ago. When I am profitable again, I will hide as much money as possible to pay as little taxes as possible. The government already takes too much from small businesses, especially in IL. I've been working on an exit strategy since the first day I went union. Unfortunately, I've had many setbacks. Some due to unions, some due to economy, some due to poor decisions and some due to employees. I'm not busto, but I'm down to my last 15 BB. I've never quit at anything, so I'm downsizing further, taking on more duties myself(again) and going to be lean enough to make $ no matter how bad the economy gets. While I'm doing this, I'm using my contacts and sales skills to grow another business, I'm a sales associate for Viridian Energy. This is going much better than I ever imagined and I look forward to 4 years from now.
  14. There's many problems with non-right to work states and laws that go along with them
  15. While that may be a problem, the real problem is allowing the government employees to be forced to pay dues to any union and having the government collect the dues on the unions behalf
  16. It was never MY CHOICE to deal with the devil. From 1974 to 1999 we were non-union. Then I joined the company in 1999 and the unions were all over me. If I had any idea, I would have never entered this industry
  17. And aggregate production
  18. That trucking business could only do business non union companies on non union sites. There wouldn't be enough business. Unions also threaten employees and convince them to quit or do favors for the union. Sabotage equipment, make up stories about labor situations. Many have tried to go non union on a large scale and they all fail in chicagoland. I'm speaking strictly about asphalt and road building
  19. Gravel pits would not be able to do business because union trucking would not use the pit. Same goes for an asphalt plant.
  20. Forcing you out of business as the same as holding a gun to your head and forcing someone to sign a contract
  21. Aggregate miners, trucking companies, railroads. EVERYONE IS UNION. Nobody crosses picket lines. If you cross a picket line, the unions threaten their members with loss of pension, physical harm, arson and the union also threatens family members. I've personally dealt with friends who were put through this
  22. You wouldn't be able to get the supplies to supply...
