  1. $400 average win a night is pretty aggressive at a 2/5. What kind of fish are you playing with, lol.
  2. WAS AT $450 IN WEEK 4 AND I AM AT $447 AS OF LAST NIGHT SO I HAVEN'T MADE ANY PROGRESS THIS WEEK (see attached hands, you'll see how my luck is running, lol). TOOK THE GIRLS TO DISNEY LAST WEEKEND SO HAVEN'T PLAYED TOO MUCH THIS PAST WEEK. LAST NIGHT I PLAYED A 45 MAN $3 SIT N GO (1ST PLACE IS $42). I WAS IN SECOND PLACE OUT OF 9 LEFT THE 1ST TIME I GOT POCKET ACES AND I WAS IN 5TH PLACE THE SECOND TIME I GOT POCKET ACES. HERE ARE THE HANDS, LOL. I GOT BOTH THESE HANDS WITHIN MINUTES OF EACH OTHER. IT SUCKS TO GET ROBBED LIKE THIS BUT AS LONG AS I THINK I PLAYED THE HANDS CORRECTLY, THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT BAD LUCK, RIGHT MARK? 3. Ended this week at around $450, up from $345 last week which puts me ahead of my average. No big wins just grinding away at the small Sit N Gos when I have time. My tournament stats are terrible (down around $100 having played about 35 small tourneys http://www.pokerprolabs.com/Personalization/AsyncGraphController.ashx?id=37226671&pnid=1&tt=1&dt=0&gt=1&w=240&h=180) but my Sit N Go stats have me up about $250 (which is why I play them a lot more often). http://www.pokerprolabs.com/Personalization/AsyncGraphController.ashx?id=37226671&pnid=1&tt=2&dt=0&gt=1&w=240&h=180 Sooner or later I win spike one of the little tournaments and be in the positive on the tournament side. Not tonight though, it's family night, lol. Later, Dave
  4. Well, I'm back up to $345 this week - a little under the average I need to keep but I keep thinking I'm going to spike a tournament pretty soon - I just have to find the time to play them. Doing good in Sit N Gos (as usual says the self proclaimed Sit N Go King ) but I need to cash in one of my little tournaments I've been playing. They have a $250K tournament every Sunday that I can play for cheap but it's right in the middle of the day so I rarely have the time to play it. I'm not showing my tournament stats because they are the opposite of this graph, lol. http://www.pokerprolabs.com/Personalization/AsyncGraphController.ashx?id=37226671&pnid=1&tt=2&dt=3&gt=2&w=240&h=180 Here is my bad beat of the week; I played a 90 man Sit N Go and got knocked out 5'th I had the guy dominated pre-flop, I hit my Jack on the flop but he gains an inside straight draw. I'm like a 90% favorite going into the river but I knew that the usual Jokerstars bad beat was coming. If I had won the hand, I would have been in 3'rd place. 5. The first hand, that is one of my favorite tricks. Slow play the monster (check calling) on the flop and go all in on the river and hope the "donk" has enough to think you are trying to buy the pot. He only needed AQ or 2 spades to beat you on the river anyway. WAY too many hands that could beat you. You should have folded. If you think these are bad, I'll send you some bad beats or set up hands, lol. The second hand you played right but since this is a rebuy tourney he played right too. When he makes the reraise, you have to know you are "probably" either a slight favorite at best or a huge dog if they raised with AA KK QQ. Of course you will get the occasional reraise with a smaller pair. I would recommend you stay away from rebuys because they can really eat up your bankroll when you get on a bad streak. Not trying to offend you, just been there myself before. One of the most important skills in poker is learning how to fold. Later!
  6. Yes it's the right fold because it's the start of the tourney and you didn't make any sort of raise so you don't know where you stand. He could have the flush or A9 or 5 9 or 89 or 55 and you hardly have anything invested.
  7. I figured I would make my weekly update on Sunday nights. After week 1, my account is at $327, up from my original $298. About on target for the $25 a week profit I was talking about in my first blog. I should have won more but I ran into some pretty bad luck in some hands/tournaments the last week. It happens. Just part of poker. You can't let it get to you and tilt off all your money like a friend of mine. Especially when you are playing for free, lol. See you next week. Dave
