Shooting, Explosion in Paris
just to clarify... you want troops on the ground all over the middle east, you want very little immigration and highly protected borders, along with deportation based on their "loyalty to America"... I can only guess that you consider yourself a Democrat then to support their fantastic forward-thinking economic policies'

My wedges and short irons are about mid-stance. Almost directly below my belly button. Each long iron is progressively longer until my 3 which is just a little back from inside my left foot.

Yes on the steep angle of attack, no on the fade (with the exception of the full swing with my new lob wedge as previously stated)

okay - that makes sense. I could hit my 6 iron 200, but use it as my 190 club. I think that distance doesn't change as much for me proportionately as I get into my longest irons. I probably shave 10 yards off of what I can hit my PW, but I also only probably shave about the same off my 3 iron.

Like I said, I was a 4, and am getting back to being a solid golfer now, so I'm comfortable with hitting different wedge distances, but am concerned with what I'm seeing on full swings. On the course, Zee is probably right that I should never have to hit that shot unless I'm trying to get out of trouble. I will go through the drill of distances with 3 swings with each of them - and I feel like the 54 is going to probably be my go to 100 yd club from the fairway (I don't have as much spin control as I'd like and the 58 could get out of hand quickly). Thanks for the recommendation. A smooth ...

I've already spoken briefly with a PGA professional, but want to ask OT, since the answers are always the most consistent and accurate here... I'm a 6.6 index, and that's been trending down. I've been as low as a 4, but that was close to 20 years ago when I was playing high school golf, and didn't really try to improve my game for the next 15 years. I also hit the ball a lonnnnnggggggggg way. I haven't played with anyone that consistently out drove me since I was 14 years old (I won my club's men's long drive contest at that age - and certainly haven't lost any distance since). Even though ...

OT golfers
Been playing more than I have since I was in high school so far this year. Always got out a few times a year, but joined the Country Club last summer, and have been getting it in since the snow went away. Last Friday I played great - shot a 73 in stiff winds from the blue tees (7013 yards, 73.9/134). Just replaced my wedges with Vokey's yesterday, and hit them great but still found a way to shoot 41 on the front by three putting 7, 8, and 9. I'm starting a plan with the assistant pro out there with hopes to go from a 6 to sub-3 by the time the Men's Club Championship rolls around. I think ...

Best standup special ever?
Eddie Murphy "Raw". Louis CK "Shameless". Chris Rock "Bigger and Blacker". Richard Pryor "Live in Concert". It's amazing how many great comedians there are/were that don't get a nod when it comes to the very best sets. I've seen a lot of the greats, imo Brian Regan was the best, but I can't think of a single set that stands out as game changing or anything like the ones above. ncj, I think the Dane Cook hate comes from the fact that his early stuff was awesome. Then he realized that all the little teeny bopper girls wanted to fuck him, and now it's just garbage directed at stroking his ego ...

Anyone collect coins /Render unto Caesar
stacks bowers auctions. They're surprisingly cheap. I have a roman coin from Constantine I graded as mint in both strike and condition. When there are no banks and you have to bury your money when invading armies/tribes come to kill you - a lot of coins get left in the ground - a lot of coins to be found makes things a lot cheaper than something like an 1893S Morgan or a 1943 Copper penny.

***Official OT MMCC/Global Warming Thread***
I don't know why the Sierra Club is pushing a false narrative, poopy, but they certainly don't approach their campaigns, especially in relation to coal, honestly. It's great that Burlington has the goals to be 100% renewable, but this article is bullshit. Cute little images of solar panels and use of "energy sources like wind and solar" don't equal clean energy. A large portion comes from their biomass plant - no matter how you feel about biogenic CO2 and whether or not it should be regulated differently than fossil carbon pollution, there aren't a lot of people who understand energy ...

#1 is just as LOL as #9. You don't even have to worry about #8, if you do #1. People talk about this all the damned time. The worst of which are anti-nuke people. There is absolutely nothing that can be done in the next ten years that will eliminate the need for fossil fuels to meet our electricity demands.

Official Deep Fryer Thread
Flour Tortilla, cut into "chips" the size you want. When the edges look done, pull them. They'll cook a little more but still stay slightly chewy in the middle. When you pull them and they're still hot, douse them with: Cinnamon sugar, or straw/black/raspberries prepared like you would for shortcake. Serve around a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whip cream while the chips are still warm. Decorate the plate around the chips with chocolate syrup. Be prepared as girls you make this for will fall in love. If all alone, just do cinnamon sugar and throw them on the plate - eat all of them, then ...

Tough to argue with that color, though. There's always someone trying something new. The Jefferson's Ocean (ridiculously) small batches are supposed to taste like a 21 year after only 4 years at sea.

AK law passed
As I understand it - Oregon does have commercial regulations as part of the new law, Alaska is expected to make those, and DC's law is just about possession and personal cultivation. Re: Congress - I'm going to guess there will be an opposition bill put in place by an ultra-conservative, but it won't go anywhere. I can't imagine most reps and senators want to go through the political suicide of overturning a voter mandate (but then again, Democrats keep going after gun control, so maybe none of them are just that bright).

Just stop at a hotel front desk and ask the girl working there for the password. They don't get paid enough to say no to anyone. If you sign up for IHG rewards club (free online), any Holiday Inn, HI Express, Staybridge Suites, Crowne Plaza, or Candlewood Suites are supposed to give you the password.

Question for OT rednecks: which southern states are the most "southern"?
mechanical skills that can compete with graduate level engineers, ease of entry into small town business, low cost of living, generations of owning huge plots of land, working since the age of 6. Looks like a good time, but the kid on the left in the 4th pic down is straight out of "Deliverance".

Question for OT rednecks: which southern states are the most "southern"?
WV doesn't have to be included, it's existence is based on it separating from VA when Virginia seceded. I'm cool with Virginia being left off this list, but am proud of our southern heritage (barring the slavery/racism, obv). The panhandle of Virginia is pretty bad, though, with ten commandments billboards and some shanty buildings just thrown up on the side of the mountains. Last time I was in Texas, a guy called me a yankee, and I made damn sure that I cleared that up (Born in the capital of the Confederacy and raised to the south of it). I think he respected that I didn't let that slip.

Question for working folk
There's a passion for your career that develops in a higher stress job. Your decisions end up playing a significant role in the development of the business, so the successes give you more of a high. I made this decision two years ago (not married, no kids, and it also meant moving closer to family), but I took the higher stress position and would be miserable if I had to go back. Ser Davos is right about going to bed with different ideas, opportunities, responsibilities on your mind; but keep a notepad by the bed or at your desk at home and write the stuff out before going to sleep, and make ...

Amtrak USA Rail Pass
just got back from Germany (actually in the Philly airport right now), and did most of that on their train system. We have a better road system. I know it wouldn't save you any money, but the freedom seems like it would make it worth it (although being able to drink beer while riding is a major perk).
