The new categories on stars which include #of cashes for micro, low, medium, etc are confusing as i was trying to win the micro and possibly the low category this week. Thinking to myself this is odd that the pokerstars.com website is not providing an explanation of the prizes. I mean usually every kind of leaderboard has a prize associates with it right?? WRONG. Upon emailing them i found out the following:
Thank you for contacting PokerStars and I apologise for the confusion with our Leader Boards.
Please note that, for the time being, we do not offer any prizes for winning or finishing high in any of the new Leader Boards. The purpose of these is a fun and interesting way to compare how you are doing compared to the other players on the site.
This new feature gives you more details on your results, focused on those most relevant to your playing experience. You can also compare your results to those of other players.
For example, you can find information on your daily ring game hands won, showdowns won, daily Sit&Go cashes and wins, daily Spin&Go cashes and wins, weekly MTT cashes, etc. Note that placing on these new Leader Boards will not award prizes.
We plan on developing and expanding this feature to incorporate plenty of existing (e.g. SCOOP) and new Leader Boards in the future. That said, as you will notice, you will only see the Leader Boards that are most relevant to you.
As with all of our new features, your feedback is very important to us. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve your experience with our Leader Boards, please send us an email with your feedback so we pass it onto the department in charge for review.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to write back, and thank you for choosing PokerStars.
I mean how is this not a blatant attemlt to confuse people in to playing massive volume in order to win something that does not exist. There is no justifiable reason that the staff could not make the no prize aspect of this new feature clear. This is one of many other changes this year but the others for the most part have always had prizes attached. I find it ridiculous how they need people to ask why these things are here, usually when u finish first in something you end up winning something because of the effort it took to win that something. Funny how the biggest grinders get overlooked but then stars awards people with sponsorship for dubious reasons. Who are these people???
