Matt "mjw006" Wakeman hails from Australia and took second in the PartyPoker $250K GTD in May 2011 for $30,000. Also a Triple Crown winner, Wakeman finished third in the Ongame Network's $100K on the first day of 2012 for $10,000.

In June 2012, Wakeman won the PartyPoker $100K GTD High Roller for $28,000. One month later, he final tabled the PokerStars Sunday 500 for $12,000. The first weekend of October 2012 saw Wakeman finished third in the Ongame $100K and Party $100K High Roller for nearly $20,000 total. In April 2013, he was back at it, this time final tabling the 888 Poker Whale for $11,000 after a sixth place finish.

May 2013 saw him finish third in the iPoker $200K for $19,000. He nearly outlasted the entire 933-player field. Two months later, he was back at the final table of a big Sunday event, this time taking sixth in the Stars Sunday $100R for $10,000. In November 2013, Wakeman final tabled the PokerStars Sunday $100R and earned $24,000.

He started off 2014 with a bang by final tabling the PokerStars Sunday $100 Rebuy for $17,000. In November of that year, mjw006 finished fourth in the Full Tilt Sunday Major for $14,000. March 2015 saw mjw006 final table the Sunday Warm-Up and earn $19,000.

In January 2016, Wakeman won the PokerStars Sunday 500 outright for $57,000, defeating a field of 613 players. The top four finishers were all PocketFivers. The same month, he final tabled the same tournament once more, this time for $25,000.
