  1. From what you say villain is a competent player so I would doubt he's shoving with just a pair. That is unless he has KK or AA but the way hes played the hand I seriously doubt hes holding those, although you cant rule them out entirely. Your range as played looks like 77+ ATs+, AJo+, KJs+, KQo. My first thought was that he has limped in with a small pair, took a chance, called your raise pre and hit a 4 or a 6, I think thats what hes shoving with. Maybe hes just shoved because theres a flush draw out there. Could be a semi bluff of course but I doubt it, would he shove 40bb when theres a very good chance you have a big pair. I think its a reluctant fold.
