  1. Late last month, Russia's MatveichukR(pictured) took down his sixth PocketFives Triple Crown. If the award isn't familiar to you, the way to get one is to win three $10,000 prize pool tournaments with at least 100 players each across three sites tracked for the PocketFives Rankings within seven days. PocketFivers have won 106 of them in 2014 and exactly 900 all-time. For MatveichukR, the latest Triple Crown was his sixth overall and his first since September of last year. He told PocketFives in an exclusive interview, "Almost a year has passed since I won my last Triple Crown. A few times, I got two of the three wins, but did not succeed in getting a third. But now, I've gotten my sixth one." When asked what the key was to winning so many Triple Crowns on PocketFives, MatveichukR answered firmly, "You just have to play a lot." He added, "Now, it's not so easy to win a Triple Crown. I used to play on seven sites and everywhere there were a lot of tournaments that qualified for one. Now, your options are pretty much just PokerStars, Full Tilt, and iPoker." Here's a list of the six Triple Crowns that MatveichukR has achieved in the last two years: October 1, 2012 (on 32Red, Titan, Party with 684.18 points) December 19, 2012 (on Stars, Tilt, Party with 460.99 points) May 31, 2013 (on Stars, 888, Titan with 605.38 points) June 21, 2013 (on Titan, Stars, Tilt with 481.70 points) September 7, 2013 (on EuroPoker, Tilt, Stars with 545.99 points) July 27, 2014 (on Titan, Party, Tilt with 646.15 points) You'll notice that his latest Triple Crown was worth 646 PLB Points, the second most in a Triple Crown he's had, much of which came via a victory in the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl on July 27. Three of his five largest career scores have come in the Brawl, leading him to say, "I was in a downswing and that was my biggest win since September 2013, so I'm very happy." All told, MatveichukR has amassed 213 first place finishes in online MTTs and almost 600 top-three finishes. Accordingly, he has battled against some of the top names online throughout the years, so we thought it'd be fitting to ask who the best online tournament players in the world are right now. His response: "cal42688(pictured) and moorman1. Among Russian-speaking players, I would pick veeeaand Romeopro. Moorman is a legend online. cal42688's game seems, to me, to be very interesting, as he has had very solid results. veeea and Romeopro are people with whom I have discussed a lot of hands and learned a lot from. I think they are the top players in Russia and Ukraine." Check out our Triple Crown Wall of Champions to learn how to get your own award! Want the latest poker headlines and interviews? 2. Every month The PocketFives Milestone Report looks at the online poker players who are achieving career-best achievement or reaching new heights in the rankings. 'MatveichukR' Earns Eighth Triple Crown Longtime PocketFiver Roman ‘MatveichukR’ Matveychuk picked up an impressive eighth Triple Crown during the week of July 31. The achievement moves him into a tie for sixth place on the all-time Triple Crown leaderboard with Dara ‘Doke’ O’Kearney. It is enough for an eighth Triple Crown to be marveled at alone, but how Matveychuk did it is just as remarkable. He won all three tournaments for this Triple Crown on the same day. Matveychuk picked up his first victory of the Triple Crown with a win in PokerStars $109 Bounty Builder on July 30 for $8,114. Then over on Titan Poker, he won the €8000 Championship for $2,490. It’s very likely that while he was grinding both of those tournaments, he was also headed for eventual victory in the partypoker Fast Bounty Hunter for another $2,782. In total, the three tournaments earned him over $11,000 and a spot in elite company on the Triple Crown leaderboard. Oh, Hello $7 Million Russia’s current #1-ranked online player ‘hellohellohello’ recently soared past the $7 million mark in lifetime earnings. A consummate grinder, the major milestone was actually surpassed with a relatively minor score. Officially, he eclipsed $7 million with a 21st place finish in the July 26 edition of the PokerStars Hot $215 for $484. However, he’d been working on climbing to the new plateau all month, with as many as five five-figure scores including an early July victory in the $2,100 Sunday High Roller on PokerStars for $38,215. 2018 has been an especially good year for ‘hellohellohello’. He had spent the bulk of the summer in the top 3 of the PocketFives Worldwide Rankings, even having reached a career-high peak at #2. He looks to resume his climb to the top of the rankings with the upcoming start of WCOOP and POWERFEST, the latter event of which he captured a championship in Event #25, the $5,200 Super High Roller Championship Event for over $65,000 back in May. ‘Ramiro’ Rolls Past $4 Million Another one of the PocketFives Worldwide Top 10, Ramiro ‘Ramiro’ Petrone, celebrated a major career breakthrough. The current #6 player in the world has now amassed over $4 million in lifetime earnings. Petrone took first place in the July 25 edition of the PokerStars Big $215 for over $5,000 which was more than enough to get him over the top of $4 million. He played out the rest of July, accumulating seven four-figure cashes in the final week of the month to propel him up over $40,000 on his way to his next major million mark. If Petrone’s performance in the previous major online series is any indication, a large chunk of his next million could be made during WCOOP. He earned a SCOOP title in May by winning Event #19 for over $57,000 in addition to his TCOOP Main Event runner-up finish for over $282,000 back in March 2018. Other newly minted millionaires include Hungary’s Toth ’SlyderS’ Bela who just reached the $2 million lifetime total. Also, ‘Marcos Chaiben’, Somalia's ‘Nikks’, ‘Virgilik’ from Romania, and James ‘jamex’ Walsh all cleared $1 million in lifetime online cashes. Major Moves In Worldwide Top 5 A pair of top-tier online pros have reached new career high rankings this week in the PocketFives Worldwide Rankings. Both Matt ‘GINS FINEST’ Stone (#3) and Jonathan ‘proudflop’ Proudfoot (#5) have been clawing their way to the top of the online poker world and this week, both found footing in the top 5. For Stone, he’s now up against one of the toughest ceilings in the rankings to breach. The only two players left above him in the rankings are a pair of Swedish superstars, ‘lena900’ and ‘C Darwin2’, who are generally considered to be in the ranks of the best in the world, regardless of rankings. If either of these players finds a way to make it to #1, they will be the first player in 2018 to hold that rank that isn’t one of the super Swedes. Additionally, three players, ‘lincownz’, ‘GoFighter’ and ‘selouan1991’, all make their debut in the top 100 this week. Career High Rankings In Top 100 lincownz - #125 to #100 GoFighter - #106 to #95 selouan1991 - #102 to #93 MIL_O_90 - #85 to #78 jason132008 - #69 to #62 Pseudo fruto - #55 to 42 Palsgaard1 - #35 to #33 Palyaaa - #17 to #13 proudflop - #7 to #5 GINS FINEST - #4 to #3
