  1. The final Sunday of online poker action in 2018 saw former PocketFives.com #1 ranked player Patrick 'pads1161' Leonard bank over $112,000 after he achieved both a Gold and Silver medal finish. In the biggest event of the day, the PokerStars Sunday Million, 5,597 entrants created a $1,119,400 prize pool with former WCOOP champion 'Erickie' going the distance to win $151,184. 'Gossimer007' departed in third place for $74,452, before Canada's 'pisky16' lost out to Holland's 'Erickie' during heads-up and settled for $106,092 as runner-up. The PokerStars $2,100 Sunday High Roller title went to the Patrick Leonard after he came through a 98 player field. PokerStars Team Pro Liv Boeree was the first player to depart from the final table of nine before 'ga207' and 'imluckbox' also hit the rail. Scott 'AggroSantos' Margereson and Connor 'blanconegro' Drinian then took sixth and fifth place respectively followed by Conor '1_conor_b_1' Beresford in fourth place. The U.K.'s 'bk0705' just missed out on a place in the heads-up battle and exited in third place for $27,688, which left Leonard to get the better of 'huang33', who took away $36,011, leaving Leonard to win the $46,837 top prize. But Leonard wasn't done for the day and continued his form into the PokerStars Winter Series 29 - High: $530 NLHE, $500K Gtd event. This time around however there was a much bigger field for Leonard to compete against with 1,155 entrants creating a $577,500 prize pool. But the Brit navigated his way into the top three once more and found himself in a second heads-up battle of the day after America's Grayson 'gray31' Ramage hit the rail with a bronze medal for $47,060. But it turned out to be bittersweet for Leonard, who was unable to complete the double and exited as runner-up for $66,018, as '0409479' took the win for $92,614. Canada's #1 ranked player Connor 'blanconegro' Drinan banked over $129,000 for victory in the PokerStars Winter Series 28 - High: $2,100 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, Sunday Warm-Up] event. Drinan battled through a 382 player-field and a heads-up battle with Russia's 'Futti18' to win $69,830 + $60,199 in bounties, with 'Futti18' taking home $52,597 + $38,480 in bounties for second place. The U.K.'s Stuart 'guitey' Guite recorded his biggest score to date after he won the PokerStars Winter Series 28 - Med: $215 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, Sunday Warm-Up] following a three-way deal. The prize pool was set at $736,400 after 3,682 entrants took part, and when the field had been reduced to the final three, a money-deal was agreed to. Brazil's Vinícius 'vinimiranda7' Miranda then departed with the bronze medal for $38,444 + $11,395 in bounties, before Guite saw off the challenge from 'sorakasa' heads-up. The latter received $38,435 + $6,945 in bounties for their share of the deal, and Guite banked $40,114 + $28,652 in bounties along with the title. 'TheBlack_sheep' and 'Chelsea72' agreed to a heads-up deal in the partypoker $2,600 Super Sunday High Roller $150k Gtd. 'nipa3p3' exited in third place for $21,750 before the final two agreed to a deal. 'Chelsea72' then departed as runner-up for $39,084 and 'TheBlack_sheep' banked $42,665 as victor. 'Sentapied99' won the partypoker $1,050 Sunday HR Bounty Hunter for $17,357 + $23,903 in bounties following a heads-up battle with 'KERRMODE'. 'JonasLuck_' walked away with $9,060 + $2,535 in bounties after they finished third in the 151 player-field. 'KERRMODE' was then the final player to hit the rail and banked $12,457 + $5,362, which left 'Sentapied99' to take the spoils. Over on 888poker, there were wins for both 'MisterN411' and 'KimberSlice.' 'MisterN411' added $20,000 to their bankroll after they came through a 48 player-field in the $1,050 The $50,000 Whale. Ivan 'Hurrrrican3' Gabrieli took second place for $13,500, with 'kaycrusher' earning $7,500 in third. And in the 888poker $215 Sunday Mega Deep BONANZA, 'KimberSlice' defeated Rick 'WhosToClaim' Trigg heads-up to win $23,750. Trigg took away $17,000 in second place with 'MOI_est_JEAN' banking $13,125 in third. 2. Movers & Shakers takes a look into those PocketFives members that have made big moves in the top 100 of the online poker rankings. With partypoker’s POWERFEST and 888poker’s XL Blizzard ongoing and PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker on the horizon, the worldwide rankings are in for a massive shakeup over the next 30 days or so. In fact, they’ve already blown up as Roman ‘Romeopro’ Romanovsky, who was a subject in our last MOVERS & SHAKERS report, finally took over the #1 spot for the first time in his career. This week, we have one of the most dangerous high rollers in the game setting himself up for his own shot at the top spot and a hard-charging Brazilian breaking through into the top 10 for the very first time. Andras ‘probirs’ Nemeth (#3) Worldwide top 10 mainstay Andras ‘probirs’ Nemeth has been on quite a heater as of late. This week he shook up the upper echelons of the rankings by leaping into the #3 spot thanks to a number of high profile scores that not only brought in fistfuls of cash but plenty of PLB points to go along with it. The Sunday tournaments on the GGPoker network has been giving some of the best in the online poker game major scores as of late. Nemeth has been taking advantage of these tournaments which are the online equivalent of an ARIA high roller series. On the March 31 edition of the Sunday $5K Blade, he picked up a second-place finish for just over $43,000. The very next day he picked up another $20,863 in the PokerStars $1,050 Monday High Roller Club. While those were nice additions to Nemeth’s bankroll, the real victory came on April 5 in the partypoker POWERFEST Event #21-Super High Roller $1M GTD Championship Event. Nemeth defeated the 127 player field taking home the $311,150 first place prize sending his online poker lifetime earnings skyrocketing over $12.6 million and putting him in 5th place on the All-Time Online Money List. He currently sits less than 1000 PLB points behind Romanovsky for the #1 spot and 596 points behind the #2-ranked ‘lena900’. If he were to return to the #2 ranking, it would match his career-high that he set back in 2018. Geraldo ‘geraldocesar’ Cesar Neto (#10) Brazil’s #1-ranked player Geraldo ‘geraldocesar’ Cesar Neto has been coming on strong in 2019. This week he finally broke through the top 10 for the first time in his career, touching the #10 spot thanks to his daily dedication to the online grind. The tournament that really helped him breakthrough was his victory in the April 1 partypoker POWERFEST Event #4-H $500K GTD PKO. He took home $64,826 for first place as well as 707.11 PLB points. He followed that up the very next day with a victory in the PokerStars Hot $215 for another $7,901 and 201.00 PLB points. He’s in a tight spot sitting at #10, just 129 PLB points behind Patrick ‘pleno1’ Leonard and 23 PLB points ahead of the UK’s Conor ‘1_conor_b_1’ Beresford. In order to continue climbing the ranks, he’ll need to be diligent about volume and find a way to make another major final table or two. Thomas ‘martom’ Boivin (#18) Belgium’s Thomas ‘martom’ Boivin is enjoying the huge boost that a big-time score in a spring series can give you. Boivin is now the #1-ranked player in Belgium and sits at a career-high ranking of #18 in the world after shooting up 8 spots in the rankings. His rise was in part due to a heater that brought him string of victories last week. Included in his run was a victory in the partypoker POWERFEST Event #12-HR for $42,819 and 458.26 PLB points. He combined that with his April 1 victory in the PokerStars High Roller Club $530 Daily 500 for $13,590 and 249 PLB points. He was not finished for the week when he tacked on another win on April 3 in the same event for another $13,854/256.90. In total, Boivin has just over $1.3M in lifetime earnings, however, if he keeps pace with his recent activity, he’ll soar past $1.5M in no time and just maybe climb into the top 15 in the world. Andreas ‘r4ndomr4gs’ Berggren Sweden’s Andreas ‘r4ndomr4gs’ Berggren had one of the biggest rankings swings of the week as his rocketed back well into the top 50, all the way to #28, after being ranked at #67 just one week ago. He first took down the partypoker High Roller Terminator on March 30 for $6,887 and 147.53 PLB points. Just days later, he took down the PokerStars High Roller Club $1,050 Daily Cooldown for $13,020 and another 237.70. Berggren is a former #1-ranked PocketFiver who has spent plenty of time has a top 100 ranked player and with over $12 million in career earnings. He is also in the top 10 on the All-Time Online Money List. ‘Wildace_hun’ (#63) Hungary’s ‘Wildace_hun’ took a step forward to returning to the top 50 this week after rising 27 spots in the rankings to #63. He can credit the rapid rise to his back-to-back cashes in partypoker’s POWERFEST series. He first had an in the money finish in Event #06-HR for $1,182 and 68.22 PLB points, which was...fine. However, it was his runner-up finishing the Event #03, the $500K GTD Super High Roller for $116,325 and 553.96 PLB point that really did the damage. For many, a $116K score would be a career-defining score but for the Hungarian, it’s nowhere close to his current career-high online score of over $783K. In order to continue his climb back to his all-time high rankings of #37, or beyond, he’ll need to keep collecting cashes in the large field tournaments of the season.
  3. partypoker’s POWERFEST continued to bring in big numbers on Thursday as 18 new tournaments took place and over $3.4 million in total prize pools were up for grabs. It doesn’t seem to matter if it's live on online, Hungary’s #1-ranked player Andras ‘probirs’ Nemeth knows how to conquer Super High Roller tournaments. He bested the 127 entries in Event #21 ($1M GTD Championship Event, 8-Max) for $311,150, far-and-away the largest score of the day. The cash will push the #9 ranked player in the world up over $12.5M in lifetime career earnings, good for #5 on the All-Time Online Money List. The Championship Event was replete with some of the brightest stars in online poker. Former #1-ranked player ‘telks’, playing under his partypoker screen name ‘ilove2fish’ took home $222,250 as the runner-up. The UK’s Conor ‘ADRIEN_BRODY’ Beresford, currently the #8 ranked player in the world, finished in third, capturing $158.750 for the bronze. partypoker ambassadors fared well in Event #21 as well with Brazilian superstar Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao taking fourth place for $111,125. Renato 'renaton' Nomura just missed out on the final table, finishing in ninth for $31,750 and Sam Trickett picking up $31,750 for 11th place. Speaking of partypoker ambassadors, Bertrand ‘ElKy_’ Grospellier picked up a POWERFEST title after making a heads up deal in Event #24 ($530 Deep, Turbo, 8-Max). The former PokerStars pro picked up $14,458 for the win, just one day after finishing third in Event #17-HR for over $18,000. Sweden's ‘haddoken’ picked up one of the largest scores of the day, outside of the Championship Event, by taking down Event #23-Super High Roller ($5,200 PLO, 8-Max) for $156,403. 4. Brazil's Thomas 'tomnelz1' Nelz secured his biggest online cash to date after victory in the PokerStars $109 Sunday Million for $110,747. After last week's edition saw the lowest number of entrants take part since the revamped $109 buy-in was set, the numbers picked up this Sunday as 11,480 entrants created a $1,148,000 prize pool. When the field was reduced to the final three after more than 13 hours of play, 'Berthelcult' was the next player to hit the rail and banked $61,488 for their efforts. The final two then agreed to a money-deal before Ireland's 'TheVirus217' ultimately lost heads-up and claimed $90,747 as the runner-up. China's #1 ranked player 'zzwwzzwwzz' came through a 133 player-field in the PokerStars $2,100 Sunday High Roller to add $55,834 to their bankroll. Current world #1 'Lena900' just missed out on a podium position after the Swede fell in fourth place for $25,849. 'bigbluffzinc' departed in third place for $27,688, which allowed 'Lena900' and Andras 'probirs' Nemeth to agree on a money-deal. Current world #1 Nemeth then got the better of 2018 PocketFives.com POY 'Lena900' and took away a top prize worth $45,240.
