  1. On the back of an impressive February, New Jersey online grinder Yong ‘ykwon17’ Kwon has returned to the top of the USA Online Poker Rankings. After spending the past two months in the #2 spot, Kwon (4,516 PLB points) seemingly doubled-down his efforts in February. He increased his volume and picked up a total of 69 cashes, earning more than $86,000 in the month. Of those results, 12 were PLB-qualifying scores including his spotlight score in the February 26 edition of the WSOP.com’s $25,000 NLHE High Roller where he finished as the runner-up for $9,283 and 149.82 PLB points. That came just days after he made a final table run in the WSOP.com’s $50,000 Monthly Sunday where he earned $6,150 and 103.64 PLB points. In February, Kwon booked 25 four-figure scores in the month and 21 total podium finishes. [ptable zone="Global Poker Article Ad"][ptable zone="888poker"][ptable zone="PokerStars NJ"] That’s what it took to surpass David ‘dehhhhh’ Coleman (4,459), who dropped one spot to #2. Like Kwon, Coleman spent the majority of the month grinding online, posting 48 total cashes for a total of just over $57,000 in earnings. Coleman kicked off the month with a runner-up finish in the February 5 edition of the BorgataPoker.com Mega $535 Tuesday for $5,060 and 100.06 PLB points. Days later he posted what would be his high score for the month with a second-place finish in the WSOP.com’s $30,000 Weekly Sunday for $7,902 and 138.23 PLB points. His recent results have helped him climb to be the #85-ranked player in the world. Michael ‘JohnnyDrama’ Haberman Jr. (4,076) jumped up three spots to take over the #3 spot in the US Online Rankings. Haberman had a fast start to February with a victory in the PokerStars NJ Sunday Special for $4,450 and 127.21 PLB points. Then he went on a tear during the WSOP.com Winter Online Championships, taking home three titles. His first came in Event #3 (NLHE 4-Max) where he earned $9,440 plus 188.99 PLB points. Five days later, he went the distance in Event #18 ($15,000 NLHE Turbo Deepstack) for another $5,516 and 142.00 PLB points. His biggest score of the month arrived with his third Winter OC title as he outlasted 353 entries of Event #43 ($30,000 NLHE Special Sunday Deepstack) for $11,932 and another 218.47 PLB points. All in all, Haberman finished the month earning over $62,000 on 54 total cashes and climbed to a career-high ranking of #124 in the world. Longtime New Jersey grinder Jon ‘itsmejon’ Borenstein jumped up one spot to #4 this month after taking all of January off. He returned to the online tables in mid-February to pick up 15 total cashes including a victory in Event #22 of the Winter OC ($10,000 NLHE Knockout) for $4,191 and 153.07 PLB points. Helping him in the rankings, eight of his 15 cashes were PLB-qualified scores. Completing the top-5 for February is Vladimir ‘Donate_here’ Alexandrov, who steps back a single spot to #5. A good part of the reason Alexandrov moved back is simply a lack of volume. The New Jersey resident took the better part of the month off, recording just eight total cashes. However, he booked a big score by taking down the February 19 edition of the BorgataPoker.com Mega $535 Tuesday for $6,765 and 143.18 PLB points. His spotlight score came early in the month when he finished as the runner-up in February 2 edition of the WSOP.com $15,000 Weekly Saturday for $3,140. 2. It’s been a good start to 2020 for New Jersey-based online grinder David ‘dehhhhh’ Coleman who sits atop the USA Online Poker Rankings for the second month in a row. Coleman (4,496 PLB points) picked up a pair of victories early in the month, taking down the January 10 edition of the PokerStars NJ Nightly Stars for $1,925 as well as the January 12 WSOP.com $10,000 Weekly Saturday for another $2,850. However, he picked up his biggest scores of January as the end of the month booking a pair of five-figure cashes in back-to-back fashion. First up, Coleman fell just short of taking down the $400 PokerStars NJ Winter Series Main Event, finishing as the runner-up for an $11,839 payday plus 188.20 PLB points. The very next day, on January 27, he again finished in second in WSOP.com’s $50,000 Monthly Sunday for $13,466 and another 183.01 PLB points. In total Colman racked up 48 results in the month, nine of which were good for podium finishes. Coleman pulled in just over $64,000 for the month, more than four times his earnings for December 2019. [ptable zone="Global Poker Article Ad"][ptable zone="888poker"][ptable zone="PokerStars NJ"] After a long stretch in the #1 spot in 2019, Yong ‘ykwon17’ Kwon (4,237 PLB points) spent his second month in a row in the #2 spot. Sitting just 259 PLB points behind Coleman, Kwon picked up some impressive January results. His biggest score of the month came on January 8 when he took down WSOP.com’s $20,000 Weekly Tuesday for $8,301. He nearly matched that later in the month when he finished in fifth in the WSOP.com $50,000 Monthly Sunday for another $6,233. Kwon ended January with 12 five-figure cashes and six outright victories. He currently sits as ranked at #109 in the world. Daniel ‘centrfieldr’ Lupo (3,898 PLB points) jumped up one spot to #3 in the rankings, with the help of five PLB-qualifying cashes in January. On January 22 he took down Event #9 of the PokerStars NJ Winter Series ($30 NLHE Mini Super Tuesday) for $2,072 and 107.46 PLB points. He followed that up with a runner-up finish in the Winter Series $50 Mini Main Event for $2,521 and another 90.77 PLB points. Lupo had 16 cashes in the month, seven of which were good for four-figures. In total, he earned just over $15,500. Despite not putting in a lot of volume, Vladimir ‘Donate_here’ Alexandrov (3,867 PLB points) had a very successful start to 2020. He earned over $36,000 on the back of just 12 cashes. Alexandrov's spotlight score was his victory in the January 15 edition of the WSOP.com Tuesday Showdown for $10,788 and 189.63 PLB pints. He also picked up another $7,849 and 120.74 PLB points with his fourth-place finish in the WSOP.com $50,000 Monthly Sunday at the end of the month. He earned three victories in January and seven of his 12 results were for four-figures or more. Perhaps just one more PLB qualifying cash would have bumped him into third place for January as he finished just 31 PLB points behind Lupo. New Jersey grinder Jon ‘itsmejon’ Borenstein slipped two spots to wrap up the top five. His decline has nothing to do with his play because Borenstein appeared to take January off. With no results to speak of in January, Borenstein kept his top five ranking thanks to the strength of past performances including his two $20,000+ scores he had in December 2019. Bibat picked up nine PLB-qualifying cashes in January to wrestle the top spot away from perennial contender David ‘bewater’ Goodman. Bibat’s biggest score of the month arrived on January 4 with his final table finish in WSOP.com’s $15,000 Weekly Friday for $2,447 and 68.08 PLB points. 3. It’s another month at the top of the PocketFives United States Online Poker Rankings for New Jersey online poker grinder Yong ‘ykwon17’ Kwon. After taking the first couple of weeks in August off, Kwon soon himself back on the online grind picking up PLB-qualifying scores in bunches. Throughout the second half of the month, Kwon racked up four qualifying scores and nine cashes worth four-figures or more. Kwon’s highlight score was a final table finish in the August 14 edition of the WSOP.com Tuesday Showdown where he picked up $4,810. In total, he amassed of over $27,000 in cashes for the month. [ptable zone="Global Poker Article Ad"][ptable zone="888poker NJ"][ptable zone="GG Poker"] Kwon’s September is shaping up to be more of the same with two first-place finishes already under his belt including a victory in the September 10 Super Tuesday on PokerStarsNJ for $4,806. His success not only has him as the #1-ranked player in the U.S., but he also sits at #55 in the world. This month, however, the #2-ranked Daniel ‘centrfieldr’ Lupo closed the gap and currently sits only 70 PLB points behind Kwon. It’s been a good month for Lupo who finds himself sitting at a career-high rank of #57 in the world. His rise in the rankings can be attributed to nine PLB-qualifying cashes, three of which were outright victories. His largest score in August was his victory in the August 12 edition of WSOP.com’s $30,000 Weekly Sunday Six Max where Lupo took home a $12,852 score. Two weeks later he nearly repeated the feat, coming up just short finishing as the runner up in the same tournament for another $7,229 payday. Another New Jersey player sitting at a career-high in the Worldwide Rankings is Vladimir ‘Donate_here’ Alexandrov. Alexandrov maintains his #3 ranking in the U.S. for another month but rose to #87 in the world on the back of 11 PLB-qualifying cashes in August. In total, he accumulated 1,220.63 points and just over $66,500 in the month. Even though he had four victories in the month, his largest score came from his runner-up finish in the August 19 edition of WSOP.com’s $100,000 GTD Sunday where he won $17,624 and 222.47 PLB points. David ‘dehhhhh’ Coleman jumped up one spot in the U.S. Rankings to #4 by amassing a string of four-figure score in August. Coleman grinded his way to 22 four-figure scores in a month where he added over $76,000 to his already impressive $2.29 million in career online earnings. Coleman also picked up a five-figure cash when he defeated Daniel Lupo heads up in the August 26 WSOP.com $30,000 Weekly Sunday and picked up $12,852. Like a number of his peers, Coleman is enjoying a career-high rank in the Worldwide Rankings, currently sitting at #104 in the world. After taking some time off in July, Ryan ‘shipthesherb’ Hohner added a little more volume in August. Dropping to the #5 rank, Hohner still managed to pick up some impressive scores as well three outright victories. His spotlight score for the month came on August 14 when he took down the WSOP.com $20,000 Weekly Tuesday for just over $9,000 and 178.01 PLB points. Hohner’s September is headed in the right direction as well having just locked up a five-figure score in the September 9 $30,000 Weekly Sunday on WSOP.com for $13,870. 4. After his World Series of Poker online bracelet win earlier in June, New Jersey’s Yong ‘ykwon17’ Kwon (aka ‘LuckySpewy1’) sits atop the PocketFives United States Online Poker Rankings. Kwon (5,909 PLB points) had a stellar start to the month thanks to his June 2 victory in WSOP Event #7 ($400 Online NLHE Bracelet Event) where he took home a career-high cash of $165,263, 1,008.46 PLB points and his first World Series of Poker gold bracelet. Since that score, Kwon continued to pile up PLB points by as he picked up outright victories in eight different online events, including WSOP.com’s OC #35 ($300,000 GTD Player Appreciation Tournament) where he earned his second six-figure score of the month ($121,730) and another hefty dose (719.11) of PLB points. While other players opted to put in a live grind in Las Vegas at the Rio, Kwon continued his online grind throughout the month of June and it really paid off. Not only is he currently sitting as the #1-ranked player in the US, he’s ranked a career-best #82 in the world and he also added over $352,000 in earnings during the month. Now Kwon sits just $10K shy of $2.5m in lifetime career earnings and should he continue to grind as he did in June, he’s likely to be a major player in the U.S. Online Poker Rankings for many months to come. United States Online Poker Rankings Top 10 RANK PLAYER POINTS 1 Yong ‘ykwon17’ Kwon 5909 2 Daniel ‘centrfieldr’ Lupo 5622 3 Ryan ‘shipthesherb’ Hohner 4799 4 Vladimir ‘Donate_here’ Alexandrov 4498 5 Michael ‘Gags30’ Gagliano 3901 6 David ‘dehhhhh’ Coleman 3836 7 Mike ‘Lav519’ Lavenburg 3772 8 Jon ‘itsmejon’ Borenstein 3739 9 Matthew ‘MattEMenz’ Mendez 3593 10 Michael 'JohnnnyDrama' Haberman 3583 Sitting in the #2 spot in the U.S. is Daniel ‘centrfieldr’ Lupo (5,622) who, like Kwon, celebrated a World Series of Poker bracelet victory in June as well. On June 20, the New Jersey online grinder took down WSOP Event #48 ($500 Online NLHE Turbo) for $145,273 and his first gold bracelet. Lupo picked up 12 PLB-qualifying cashes including highlight victories in the June 3 WSOP.com OC #7 ($50,000 NLH Sunday Six Max) for $20,336 and 291.09 PLB points and OC #100 ($50,000 NLH Tuesday Showdown) for another $19,511 and 207.26 PLB points. In total, Lupo pulled in over 40 cashes for just over $249,000 for the month. The victory also catapulted Lupo to a new career-high worldwide ranking where he currently sits at #89 in the world. After spending two months in the #1 spot, Ryan ‘shipthesherb’ Hohner (4,799) falls to the #3 ranking this month. It’s completely understandable as Hohner spent part of June in Las Vegas playing live at the World Series of Poker and putting in light online volume. However, when Hohner was online he really made it count. He racked up four PLB qualifying scores including four four-figure scores during WSOP.com’s OC. One of Hohner’s spotlight scores came during WSOP.com’s OC #99 ($85,000 NLH High Roller) where he finished in fifth place taking home $9,550 and 131.55 PLB points. Like both Kwon and Lupo, Hohner is also at a current all-time high in the worldwide rankings, currently sitting at #140. Vladimir ‘Donate_here’ Alexandrov (4,498) surged into the #4 spot in the U.S. with the help of a couple of final table appearances during the WSOP.com OC series. On June 24, Alexandrov finished in fourth place in Event # 92 ($50,000 NLH) for $11,369 and 177.98 PLB points. He then backed it up two days later with another fourth-place result in Event #99 ($85,000 NLH High Roller) for $11,938 and 150.39 PLB points. Alexandrov accumulated eight PLB qualifying scores in June putting him only 301 points behind Hohner. Wrapping up the current top 5 is Michael ‘Gags30’ Gagliano (3,901). After recording some early cashes in the live arena at the World Series of Poker early in June, ‘Gags’ turned his attention back to the online grind later in the month. In total, the New Jersey pro recorded seven online results, three of which were good for PLB points including a victory in the June 23 edition of the PokerStars NJ Sunday Special for $6,900 and 173.21 PLB points. 5. Yong ‘ykwon17’ Kwon (aka ‘LuckySpewy1’) maintained his #1 spot in the PocketFives United States Online Poker Rankings for another month after he moved to the top of the leaderboard following his World Series of Poker online bracelet win. Kwon currently sits atop the PocketFives USA Online Poker Rankings with 5,914 points. Since the last update, Kwon added three victories, one second-place finish, and one third-place finish in New Jersey online poker tournaments. The three tournaments he won were the PokerStars NJ Nightly Stars $100, $7,000 Gtd for $2,045 and 86.23 points on July 7, the WSOP NJ $7,500 Weekly Sunday Turbo Deepstack [Freezeout] for $2,797 and 101.41 points on July 22, and the WSOP NJ $10,000 Weekly Sunday PLO [Re-entry, 6 Max] for $4,130 and 108.63 points also on July 22. July 22 proved even more awesome for Kwon because that’s the day he took third in the partypoker NJ SUNDAY $35K GTD NLH [3X RE] for $3,815 and 96.77 points. Overall, Kwon now has more than $2.5 million in lifetime online tournament earnings. On July 31, Lupo won the WSOP NJ $7,000 Daily [R&A] for $2,830 and 102.39 points. Vladimir ‘Donate_here’ Alexandrov advanced his ranking by one spot, moving up from last update’s #4 position to #3. His volume wasn’t as great as some of the others to make the top 10, but Alexandrov made up for it with some bigger results. Since our last update, Alexandrov has had scores of $7,541, $7,463, $7,261, and $5,920. He won two tournaments on July 17, won another on July 18, and then a fourth on July 22. Of those big scores, the largest came from a fifth-place finish in the WSOP NJ $50,000 Monthly Sunday [Re-entry, 6 Max], also earning him 116.17 points. With Alexandrov’s rise to the #3 spot, Ryan ‘shipthesherb’ Hohner dropped back to #4. David ‘dehhhhh’ Coleman comes in at #5 and he moved up one spot after being at #6 the last time we checked in. Of note, Michael ‘Gags30’ Gagliano dropped out of the top 10 altogether, falling from #5 to what is currently #13. Mike ‘Lav519’ Lavenburg also fell out of the top 10, going from #7 to #16. 6. Yet again, Yong 'ykwon17' Kwon (aka 'LuckySpewy1'), is atop the PocketFives United States Online Poker Rankings, as he continues to crush tournaments out of New Jersey. Kwon has 5,205 points, which is ore than 300 points ahead of Daniel 'centrfieldr' Lupo in second place. Kwon has been charging hard in the online poker streets daily, and we don’t expect he’ll be slowing down anytime soon, especially with the WSOP.com Fall Online Championships running for much of October. [ptable zone="Global Poker Article Ad"][ptable zone="888poker NJ"][ptable zone="GG Poker"] Kwon has been a fixture on the podium of online poker tournaments in recent weeks, with 22 top-three finishes dating back to September 1. Over that time period, he has seven victories. Kwon's most recent win came in the PokerStars NJ Sunday High Roller [6-Max] - $500, $8,000 Gtd on October 6, when he took first place for $5,640 and 106.21 points. On September 26, he won the PokerStars NJ $250 Thursday Thrill [Progressive KO], $5,000 Gtd for $1,767 and 69.11 points. Kwon’s biggest score dating back to the beginning of September was a third-place finish in the WSOP.com $30,000 Weekly Sunday [Re-entry, 6 Max] on September 23 for $6,837 and 122.45 points. Overall, Kwon now has more than $2.6 million in lifetime online tournament earnings. As you can expect, Kwon also leads the New Jersey Online Poker Rankings, which has the exact same top 10 leaderboard as the U.S. Online Poker Rankings. It’s not until you get to #12 on the U.S. Online Poker Rankings leaderboard that you find someone from outside of New Jersey. On October 17, he took down the PokerStars NJCOOP Event #19 ($100, NLHE Turbo) for $2,370 and 100.00 PLB points. Then, the very next day, he claimed a WSOP.com Fall OC title by winning Event #28 ($10,000 Pot Limit Omaha Six Max) for $3,643 and 110.20 PLB points. Coleman has been putting in heavy volume and it has been paying off. During the last week of October, Coleman finished top-three in four different NJCOOP tournaments. He won Event #32 ($200 NLHE Super Tuesday) for $6,554 and Event #47 ($75 NLHE Sunday SuperSonic SE) for $2,009. His first came on October 15 in Event #10 ($250 NLHE Super Tuesday) for $7,341. He followed that up the very next day by taking down Event #15 ($1,000 NLHE High Roller Six Max) for $20,893.
