  1. Perennial high stakes online tournament player 'probirs' of Hungary (ranked #11 worldwide) earned the top spot in the prestigious $2,600 buy-in "Super High Roller" tournament on Partypoker, followed by 'z4vor' in second place for $34,545. The United Kingdom's C=Conor '1_conor_b_1' Beresford might crack the top five in the PocketFives Rankings this week, thanks to a win in the partypoker $530 High Roller for $27,421. Beresford currently sits sixth. The PokerStars Sunday Million attracted well over 22,000 entrants over the weekend in a half-price event that paid out more than $2 million USD. 'Tomati25' captured an outright victory in the event and took home $228,755 with Brazilian 'Duraircwb' (ranked #424 worldwide) cashing for $163,056 in the runner-up position. Silvia 'sirvim' Costa Melo of Brazil earned his largest online MTT score of his career with a third place finish for $116,232 and 'Frivillig' took home $82,854 in fourth while 'mincepie' received $59,061 in fifth place. Tomi 'emeriaa' Brouk of Finland won the Stars Sunday Warm-Up and collected $46,983 as Chilean FabianoTeixeira walked away with $33,780 for second place. In the No Limit Hold'em Sunday Grand, 'th'Kick' took first place for $44,987 while 'anti-durrr' earned the victory and $28,326 upon winning the Pot Limit Omaha version of that event. 'TranBrothers' was victorious in the Sunday Supersonic for $32,824 and 'dekaer' won the half-price Sunday Storm for $28,543 as a result of a two-way final table deal. The 888poker Baby Whale tournament saw 'polarizedOMG' finish atop the leaderboard with a cash haul of $19,845 (two-way deal). In the Mega Deep event, 'Odyseus58' came out on top and walked away with an even $19,000. 2. Make it a month for the #1 ranked player in the world, ‘C Darwin2’. The Swedish superstar continues his vice-like grip atop the PocketFives Worldwide Rankings, holding a 1500 PLB point lead over the next closest player. His continued success presents a gap that would be extremely difficult to bridge in a single week and makes it look like the reigning crusher may very well not only start February in the same spot, but stay put for weeks to come. However, there is a new #2 in the world. Just last week in this column it was pointed out that the 800 point gap between ‘C Darwin2’s countryman, ’lena900’, and Steven ’SvZff’ van Zadelhoff was huge…but not insurmountable. Well, ‘lena900’ had himself a monster seven days as he absolutely crushed the online tables. The Swede had two massive results in 888poker’s XL Blizzard events. He ended up taking third in the $200,000 Tune Up for $19,858 and the very same day, a runner-up finish in the $200,000 Whale for $32,000. Still, in same session as his XL Blizzard results, he won a $100K Gtd High Roller on bwin.com for another $25,000. Not finished yet, he grinds the next day and earns a victory in partypoker's Powerfest Event #5 $100K Gtd 6-Max PLO for $26,899, his fourth five-figure score in 24 hours. ‘lena900’ climbs into the #2 spot as he cashed for over $165,000 in a week. He scored five qualifying cashes for over 1400 PLB points in what amounts to a truly incredible week for the former, and would-be future, #1 ranked player in the world. van Zadelhoff slips to #3, extending his vacation from the online tables while Andreas ‘probirs’ Nemeth maintained his #4 rankings on light volume, thanks to a final table appearance during the partypoker Powerfest Event #3. Russia’s ‘hellohellohello’ made his own major move rising from the #9 ranking to rejoining the top 5. This week saw him overtaking ‘josef_shvejk’ to claim the #1 ranking in all of Russia. He pulled in three big-time five-figure scores, including a victory in the partypoker Powerfest Event #10 for over $24,000. Sweden’s ‘Sheater’ holds fast in his #6 ranking while fellow Swede, Andreas ‘r4ndomr4gs’ Berggren slipped two spots to #7. This pair of countrymen have been attached at the hip in the rankings for multiple weeks, this merely reverses the order the pair had found themselves in. Russia's 'josef_shvejk' slipped down to #8 despite a runner-up finish in the PokerStars $109 Bounty Builder for $13,912 and 265.55 PLB points. partypoker ambassador Joao 'joaosimaobh' Simao battled his way back into the top 10 this week. Since late last year, after taking some time off, Simao has been slowly drifting down the rankings. Well, the week, the Brazilian was back on the grind and posting a host of results that helped him skyrocket from #16 back to #9. He posted six qualifying cashes, spearheaded by his victory in the partypoker Powerfest Event #13 for over $16,000 and 267.58 points. The UK's Conor '1_conor_b_1' Beresford slips two spots but extends his stay in the top 10 this week. Other notable moves in the top 25 include Roman 'Romeopro' Romanovsky moving 10 spots from #25 to #15. The #1 ranked player from the Ukraine received a massive point boost when he won the PokerStars Sunday 500 for over $37,000. Another rise in the rankings is Gary 'quiditbear' Hasson who is making is debut in the top 25 at 23, a career-high ranking for the Belgian grinder. Germany's 'nilsef' re-enters the top 25 this week at #23, while a pair of Swedish players, 'DeathbyQuads' (#28) and 'inhoo' (#31) fall out of top 25. 3. How dominant is Swedish online poker pro 'C Darwin2' right now? Well, following a week where he picked up zero PLB points, he still leads the PocketFives Rankings by 2,637.71 points over his next closest competitor. He's now been the #1-ranked player in the world four 14 weeks and appears poised to put together the longest consecutive reign at #1 since Calvin 'cal42688' Anderson went 23 weeks uninterrupted from September 2012 through February 2013. That next closest competitor, Andres 'probirs' Nemeth, actually moved up from #3 to #2 this week after picking up 505.96 points after winning the PokerStars $2,100 Sunday High Roller. He also had two qualifying cashes on partypoker for an additional 243.11 points. Swapping places with Nemeth was Sweden's 'lena900'. His fall came even after he picked up three qualifying cashes for 658.33, highlighted by a win in the Winamax W Series PLO Championship for 268.49 points. There was only other move inside of the top 10 this past week as 'hellohellohello' and 'European' switched the #4 and #5 positions. In fact, there was very little movement inside of the top 25 at all. The only player to work their way back into the top 25 was 'rolandbauer'. The Austrian went from #29 to #22 cashed just six times, but three of them were qualifying cashes. He finished second in the partypoker Sunday Bounty Hunter for 300.89 points, seventh in the partypoker Super Sunday Main Event for 220 points and then fourth in the PokerStars Big $109 on Sunday for 98.01 points. Pim 'joppiesaus' de Goede fell out of the top 25, landing at #26. 4. It’s another week atop the PocketFives.com Worldwide Rankings for the Swedish phenom ‘C Darwin2’, who has been the only #1-ranked player in all of 2018. What makes the past week so impressive is he has crossed the 12,000 PLB point barrier, touching a new high in 2018 of 12,222.54. He racked up the PLB points thanks to a pair of big money finishes this week. The first was a final table appearance in Event #23 of the PokerStars High Roller series for $81,523 and 557.24 PLB points. On the same day, he notched a runner-up finish in the partypoker Sunday Major Super High Roller for another $56,000/373.21. The Swede has been so prolific as of late, he finds himself just over $100,000 from his next major milestone - $9 million in lifetime earnings. He surpassed $8 million as recently as late February 2018. At this pace, he may see that number as soon as next week. While ‘lena900’ continues to sit comfortably in the #2 ranking, he now has a 2,687.67 point deficit to make up should he want to make another run at the top spot. Andres ‘probirs’ Nemeth jumped three spots back up to #3 on the heels of a week that saw him earn over $100,000. The bulk of his winning came in Event #19 the PokerStars High Rollers Series for $57,524/330.82 and he followed that up finishing in third place, right behind ‘C Darwin2’, in the partypoker Sunday Major Super High Roller for $40,000/292.62. ‘European’ remained in the #4 spot as Russia’s ‘hellohellohello’ rose two spots to #5 after a pair of qualifying cashes on bwin.com. Malta’s Steven ‘SvZff’ van Zadelhoff slipped three spots to land at #6 this week. The slip certainly wasn't due to light volume as the popular online grinder was very active this week. He enjoyed four different qualifying cashes this week, including a victory in the bwin.com 6-Max Turbo for $3,985/126.49. Ramiro ‘Ramiro’ Petrone also took a step back this week, sliding into the #7 spot on light volume. There was no movement in the lower three spots of the top 10 from last week as Conor '1_conor_b_1' Beresford (#8), Roman 'Romeopro' Romanovsky (#9) and Johannes 'Greenstone25' Korsar (#10) all held firm in their respective standings. Other notable Top 25 moves: Conor ‘blanconegro’ Drinan rejoined the top 25, jumping up to the #17 rank from a previous rank of #38. He found himself cashing in five straight PokerStars High Rollers events including a fourth-place finish in Event #23 for over $156,000 and 710.71 PLB points. Jonathan ‘proudflop’ Proudfoot was the only player to drop out of the Top 25 this week, but the UK pro sits just outside the bubble, falling to #26. 5. Stability reigns at the top of the PocketFives Rankings this week. The top five players in the world stayed the same as last week with Sweden's 'lena900' holding on to the #1 spot for the fifth consecutive week. 'Lena900' managed to hold on to the top spot despite not picking up a single qualifying cash. In fact, he cashed just 15 times this past week, with the biggest coming via a fourth-place finish in the PokerStars Sunday High Roller which earned him $14,774. Fellow Swede 'C Darwin2' finished fourth in that same event for $25,812 and 239.7 points. That was his only qualifying cash of the week. Roman 'Romeopro' Romanovsky is almost a month out from his last online cash. His last tracked result came on May 28. Russia's 'hellohellohello' is in a very similar boat. He picked up a single cash, finishing 14th in the partypoker Big Bounty Hunter event for $1,345 but it wasn't deep enough to add to his PLB points total. Andres 'probirs' Nemeth joins the chorus of players not picking up qualifying cashes this past week. The first signs of movement inside the top 10 of the Rankings saw Ramiro 'Ramiro' Petrone and 'GINS FINEST' swap the #6 and #7 positions. Brazil's Pedro 'PaDiLhA SP' Padilha moved up to #8 from #11 and is now the top-ranked player in his home country. Sweden's 'Ariados' jumped from #10 to #9. The only new face in the Top 25 wasn't much of a new face at all. Jonatan 'Pot4teUS' Hellman, who has been as high as #4, moved from #29 to #25 this week after runner-up finishes in both the partypoker Big Bounty High Roller and the PokerStars Hot $215 for 415.61 points.
