  2. This is it. 888poker’s fall online poker series XL Eclipse has come to an end. Sunday's action included four final tournaments including the $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event. With a total of $1.3 million on the line and the promise of six-figure sums to be won, Day 11 turned out to be the biggest of the series. ‘Romeopro33’ Wins Main Event Two of the top-ranked online players in the world battled it out for the title of XL Eclipse Main Event winner. In the end, it was Roman ‘Romeopro33’ Romanovsky who put the finishing touches on the 710 player field in Event #32: $1,000,000 Main Event. For the victory, Romanovsky earned the $187,500 first place prize, the largest of the entire XL Eclipse series. The win pushes the worldwide #9-ranked Romanovsky to over $10.5 million in lifetime earnings. His heads-up opponent was none other than the former #1-ranked Swedish pro ‘C Darwin2’ (aka ‘Isildur1337x’). The current #3-ranked grinder added $135,000 to his bankroll for his runner-up finish. Both Romanovsky and ‘C Darwin2’ are two of the only 13 players in the world to have reached over $10 million in lifetime earnings to date. After winning Event #10 for over $22,000 last week, Sweden’s ‘cuadrado12’ managed to take down his second event of the XL Eclipse series. In Event #31: $100,000 Mega Deep the Swede defeated ’nnnnn_’ heads-up to earn $27,930, adding another title to his resume and picking up an extra $1,000 for winning two of the 34 events. In Event #33: $150,000 Mini Main Event ’TAPIS_TAPIR’ booked a five-figure payday for topping the 869 player field. He walked with $34,182 for first while Malta’s ‘CraiEvryTime’ earned $24,687 for second place. In the final event of the series, Event #34: $50,000 Micro Main Event Germany’s ‘amverskltn97’ picked up $11,974.46 for the win. In the Main Event, Romanovsky and ‘C Darwin2’ were not the only top 10 ranked pros at the final table. The #6-ranked ‘varonislv’ (aka ‘DamageAP’) finished in seventh place for $32,500. Not far behind was the #1-ranked player in the world, ‘tutten7’ (‘lena900’) who bowed out in 16th place, adding $7,000 to his over $12 million career earnings. 888poker ambassador Parker ‘tonkaaaa’ Talbot picked up his first cash in the series. The #50-ranked Talbot worked his way to 37th place for $4,000. Just three spots earlier in 40th, fellow ambassador Sofia ‘sofialovgren’ Lovgren bowed out for the same amount. PocketFivers Taking Their Shot As already displayed, PocketFivers picked up more than their fair share of Sunday’s XL Eclipse prize pool. Joining all of the top 10 ranked players that made the final table of Event #32, Malta’s ‘wisimaki’ battled into sixth place for a score of $42,500. ‘wisimaki’ is the #114-ranked player in the world and this, a career top 5 score for him, will send him rocketing into the top 100. In Event #31, the #35-ranked player in the world Pedro ‘PaDiLhA10’ Padilha finished in ninth for $2,190.30. Joining him at the final table was Sam ‘JstLikeThat’ Dearman busting in eighth for $2,940 and the #3-ranked player in Argentina, Rodrigo ’sonmonedass’ Perez who bowed out in fifth for $7,350. ‘Diffuser’ made the final table in Event #33, earning $9,570.96.
