  1. The 2020 World Series of Poker on GGPoker is less than two weeks away and on Sunday some of the game's brightest stars appeared more than ready to get after a bracelet a two. Stephen Chidwick dominated on partypoker, earning wins in the High Roller Club The Big Game and $10,300 High Roller Club Mix-Max 2nd Chance beating 165 and 44 players respectively to win a total of $367,727.71. Chidwick wasn't the only high stakes regular who picked up a pair of wins on Sunday. Artur 'mararthur1' Martirosian beat out 99 other entries in the PokerStars $5,200 High Roller to win $88,459.85 and then another 39 in the PokerStars $2,100 High Roller Club Sunday High Roller to earn $34,653.40. In both events, fellow Russian 'hello_totti' finished runner-up and was left to console himself with $110,606.71. The biggest single score on the day belonged to Ali Imsirovic. Beating 37 other entries in the partypoker High Roller Club Main Event, Imisorovic banked $387,125. Runner-up Rob Yong walked away with $251,750 while Martirosian added another $156,750 to his Sunday haul after coming in third place. 2. Just three days after 'hello_totti' took down the PokerStars Thursday Thrill the PocketFives #3-ranked player achieved a fine finish to his week by picking up a career-best top score and first PokerStars Sunday Million title after defeating 'Pthelegend' heads-up to win $160,888. Those two wins could be enough to propel the Russian player to the #1 spot for the first time in his career. Latvia's 'auercan' claimed the bronze medal for $79,231.39 before the final two battled it out. 'Pthelegend' was unable to get the better of the online legend 'hello_totti' and exited as runner-up for $112,092. Gary 'quiditbear' Hasson was crowned this week's PokerStars $2,100 Sunday High Roller champion after he beat out a 109 player field. Hasson took the $49,928 top-prize after a heads-up battle with 'SwalzB,' who collected the $37,594 runners-up prize after 'Pimmss' had exited in third place for $28,307. 'JWLMRS' won just over $60,700 for victory in the $530 Bounty Builder High Roller, after 881 entrants created a prize pool worth $440,500. 'JWLMRS' won $23,682 in bounties alone after '4rebmun' exited in second-place for over $38,000 and 'bk0705' had banked over $23,000 in third. Current world ranked #12 'Sasuke234' beat Russia's 'pokanuktus' heads-up for victory in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up and the first-place prize worth $34,431. After 'agus_amestoy' had departed in third place for $17,799, 'pokanuktus' was the final player to fall and banked $24,755, as 'Sasuke234', who has over $9.4m in online earnings, picked up another gold medal for their tally. World ranked #1 'Drulitooo' added another win to their array of online poker achievements and bagged over $37,000 in the partypoker $530 Sunday Big Bounty Hunter. Billy 'stub8ornCnt' Chattaway finished in third place out of the 166 entrants for a score worth over $11,600 before fellow U.K. based player 'PicassoToo' went heads-up with online poker's current top dog. 'PicassoToo' wasn't able to get the better of 'Drulitooo' on this occasion and had to settle for a second-place finish worth over $17,700. 'ACHSO8000' saw off competition from 'jo1ntheparty' to be crowned this week's partypoker $2,500 Super Sunday High Roller champion for $54,987. 'Drulitooo' featured on another final table, this time banking $18,675 in fourth place before Samuel 'JHelppi' Vousdon, who lost out to his BITB partner Patrick Leonard heads-up in this event last week, found himself on the final table once more but this time he had to settle for the bronze medal worth $26,975. 'jo1ntheparty' was ultimately the final player to fall and banked $38,387 in second place as 'ACHSO8000' picked up the win. partypoker ambassador Kristen 'krissyb24' Bicknell took second place in the partypoker $530 Sunday Main Event for $21,407 after she fell to 'uwannagobud' heads-up. The tournament exceeded its $125,000 guarantee after 316 entrants created a $158,000 prize pool. 'ACHSO8000' added $15,535 onto the $54,987 they received for victory in the Super High Roller by taking third-place, before Bicknell exited during the final battle and 'uwannagobud' took the win for $29,498. 'josef_shvejk' went the distance in the 888poker $1,050 The $80,000 Whale and claimed the $26,000 first-place prize. The top eight places were paid after 72 entrants took part, as Poland's 'asiarat' finished in third place $12,000. 'jnevanli' was unable to defeat Russia's 'josef_shvejk' for the win and settled for the $16,000 runners-up prize. 4. We've done a lot of interviews here on PocketFives featuring players who have won some of the largest tournaments offered on a weekly basis. Recently, Russia's hellohellohello(pictured), whom we'll refer to as H3 from here on out, won the 888 Poker Sunday Challengefor $23,000, an iPOPS event for $25,000, and the PokerStars Sunday 500 for $65,000 officially. All three scores, which combine for over $110,000, have happened in the last two months. The 23-year-old Russian player from Togliatti told us he "plays $109 Rebuys on my own and I hate nits." How has he managed to be so successful in the last eight weeks? He touts a pretty simple recipe for success: "How did I do it? Easy! I was just winning coin flips and fighting for each ante. In general, my victories happened at the right time." He said of his iPOPS score, "I managed to make the top 18 using two entries. I made a deposit right before the session to be able to do so. I was playing really well using both entries. At the final table, I was lucky to be seated on the opposite side of the table as the top regs, so they didn't give me a hard time. And then it was an easy game for me until heads-up play, where I managed to win by making a fortunate hero call against joaomathias." The hero call resulted in his largest career cash at the time. Nine days after the iPOPS win, the 888 Sunday Challenge served as his stomping ground. The tournament happened on the same weekend as the PokerStars SCOOP Main Event and, as H3 put it, many of the game's top players were likely more focused on SCOOP than on 888. "The 888 tournament was scheduled at the same time as the SCOOP Main Event," he said. "Apparently, the top regs were focused on the $10K and, therefore, the field in the later stages of the 888 tournament was pretty soft. My heads-up opponent deserved the victory more than I did, but the RNG was on my side." His Sunday 500 win came on June 1 and has helped boost his total cashes on PokerStars to over a half-million bucks. H3 is the top-ranked PocketFiver in the city of Togliattiand #4 in Russia. Worldwide, partly on the strength of his Sunday 500 win, he has shot up to #94, his highest ranking ever. He said of his homeland, "The Russian community is very friendly. But in case you suck out on your colleague in a deep run, be ready to get a punch to your face and liver. Ha-ha, just kidding of course! Just the face." We're pretty sure that's the first time a liver punch has ever been mentioned in an interview, so we're definitely charting new territory. He admitted, "Russians don't have the best reputation in the world, but in fact we have many good poker players and vivid personalities." In case you're wondering, there are just over 1,000 Russians with PLB scores on PocketFives. H3 has eight online MTT scores of at least $10,000 and is closing in on 1,900 in the money finishes overall. He plays as hello_totti on PokerStars and Full Tilt and hellohelloooon 888. We asked what qualities he thinks make for a successful MTT player nowadays. After all, this author has been in the industry for eight years and has seen our world spin upside down multiple times. "Discipline, psychological stability, controlled ego, and aces on the button," he jokingly responded. 5. The online poker alias of 'Lena900' is a name that regular PocketFives readers will be familiar with, mainly because the Swedish player can be seen to be battling it out in the highest stakes online poker tournaments have to offer week-after-week. For the past two years, 'Lena900' has just been pipped to the top of PocketFives.com Yearly PLB by his compatriot 'C.Darwin2', but 2018 was the year this all changed as 'Lena900' took the glory in five major festival events to sit at the summit of online poker. 'Lena900' finished 2018 with a total PLB score of 29,952.68, and had a clear gap over runner-up 'C.Darwin2' with 26,992.73. 'Lena900' recorded seven of his top ten online cashes over the past 12 months which included three victories. On May 16th, he reached the final table of the partypoker Powerfest $10,300 #53-SHR: $2M Gtd [Championship Event - PKO] event which came with a staggering $430,047 first-place prize. The Swede battled his way to a heads-up match against partypoker ambassador Kristen 'Krissyb24' Bicknell, and ultimately was the last player standing to pick up his biggest online score to date. But his day wasn't done with the Swede picking up a second PokerStars SCOOP title of the year as well in the #39-High: $1,050 NLO8 [6-Max] event. Fast forward to September and 'Lena900' added a second partypoker Powerfest title to his name as well as a PokerStars WCOOP victory. The Swede came through a 194 player-field to win the Powerfest $5,200 #062-SHR: $1M Gtd [Championship Event] for $203,900, as well as picking up the gold medal in the WCOOP-27-M: $530 PLO [6-Max] for $58,228. And just over a week later, there was to be another Powerfest Championship Event final table for 'Lena900', after he achieved a third-place finish in the event #095-SHR for $157,560. Back in 2014, 'Lena900' helped kick-start his online career with a fourth-place finish in the prestigious PokerStars Sunday Million and turned $215 into $81,366. Well in 2018, he was able to go one place better and ended November with a bronze medal worth $80,555. A sensational second half of 2018, helped propel 'Lena900' up to second place on the Online Poker All-Time Earnings Leaderboard with over $13.6m and closed the gap on Chris Moorman who leads the way with $15.6m. As for 'Lena900's closest rivals, 'C.Darwin2' outlasted a field of 122 players to win the PokerStars High Rollers 07: $10,300 NLHE [8-Max], $1M Gtd event for $267,406, and also took down the PokerStars Turbo Series 70: $5,200 NLHE [8-Max, High Roller] for $161,411. A silver medal came in the 888 Poker XL Eclipse #32 - $1,000,000 Gtd Main Event for $135,000, after 'C.Darwin2' was pipped to the title by 2018 PLB fourth-place finisher Roman 'Romeopro' Romanovsky who banked $187,500 for victory. PLB third-place finisher 'hellohellohello' from Russia beat his best online score three-times throughout 2018, which included victory in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $160,888 during August. Also securing their place in the top ten was Hungary's Andras 'probirs' Nemeth, Latvia's 'DamageAP', Argentina's Ramiro 'ramastar88' Petrone, 'Girafganger7', Sweden's 'Ariados', and the U.K.'s Patrick 'pleno1' Leonard. 'DamageAP's top score came in the Powerfest #002-HR: $500K Gtd [PKO] event after defeating a 358 player-field to bank $94,546. Petrone started the year fantastically when he took down the Powerfest #48-H: $1M Gtd Main Event for in February $195,720 and followed it up with a second Powerfest title in September, as well as a SCOOP and WCOOP title. Fellow high-stakes crusher 'GirafGanger7' saw 2018 reward him with another WCOOP title after he won the WCOOP-55-M: $530 NLHE [8-Max, Turbo, Progressive KO] for $55,846. 'Ariados' had a day to remember on February 4th after a third-place finish in the PokerStars $215 Sunday Million 12th Anniversary $10M Gtd event saw them turn $215 into a career-best $539,554. The Swede followed up this result with several five and six-figure scores including a Powerfest title. And completing the top ten was former world ranked #1 Leonard, who had an imposing end to the year with multiple scores in the PokerStars Winter and High Roller series, having earlier won three Powerfest titles including the #46-High: $1M Gtd NLH event for $207,978.
