Second place was taken by 'bogurdan' for $132,064 and PocketFives member 'VSB.GImli' of the Czech Republic, who was awarded $93,352 upon finishing in third place. 'NANIWAR' outlasted more than 1,500 opponents to take down the Sunday Warm-Up and collect $49,346. There was a heads-up chop in the Stars Sunday Grand, with 'Mr.Nicky86' and 'mikimiki88' earning $47,644 and $42,044 for their respective first and second place finishes. The 888 Poker $100k Guaranteed Mega Deep was won by 'roycieboy' for $21,773. Player 'Ejsenhoven1' came out on top in the $50k Guaranteed Baby Whale event and walked away with $16,074. 2. [caption width="640"] Joao 'joaosimaobh' Simao might be on his way back to the #1 ranking. (PokerStars photo)[/caption] For the ninth straight week Sweden's 'C Darwin2' is sitting on top of the PocketFives rankings but if he's not careful, he's going to find two guys named Joao passing him by soon. 'C Darwin2' had just eight cashes over the last seven days and none were big enough to add to his lead. His biggest score was in the PokerStars Hot $215 where he finished 27th for $570. While the Swede continues to hang on, two Brazilians continue to close the gap and the last player to hold the #1 spot before he took over is now within striking distance. Joao 'joaosimaobh' Simao moved from #4 to #2 thanks to a Sunday haul that included two big wins and one other score that added to his points total. Simao finished 117th in Event #2 of the World Championship of Online Poker or $1,759 and 117 points. He then took down an $82 No Limit Hold'em Six Max Hyper Turbo event on PokerStars for $6,931 and 197.41 points. That was just the appetizer though. He wrapped up his Sunday with a win in the partypoker Super High Roller for $52,197 and a whopping 441.59 points. Simao now has 7,382.04 PLB points, trailing 'C Darwin2' by just 401.04 points. Joao Mathias 'joaomathias' Baumgarten, who was #2 last week, fell one spot this week to #3. He still managed to add to his total, though. He cashed 23 times with three of them earning him PLB points. He won the PokerStars Omania High Roller for $9,230 and 207.12 points. He also finished fourth in the PokerStars Big $215 on Sunday for $12,302 and 192.9 and 29th in WCOOP Event #1 for $3,217 and 169.9. Another Swede, 'lena900', sits fourth overall giving the Scandinavian poker powerhouse a bookend on the two Brazilians. 'lena900' had 33 cashes this past week with three of them earning enough PLB points to move him from #5 to #4. He finished third in the partypoker High Roller for $8,262 and 134.89, fourth in the PokerStars $1,050 Sunday Grand for $18,266 and 222.37 and 28th in WCOOP Event #1 for $3,217 and 173.52. Despite wrapping up the August Monthly PLB title, Alex 'alexd2' Dimitrov dropped from #3 to #5. The top-ranked Bulgarian returned to a full schedule in the first week of September after taking some time off in August for a vacation. His biggest score this past week was a win in the $109 NLHE event on PokerStars on Monday that earned him $3,749 and 137,48 points. Working his way back into the top 10 this week was Jimmy 'JMolloy' Molloy. The Canadian grinder took down the PokerStars Big $55 for $9,097 and 239.9 on Saturday and then finished runner-up in the $109 Six Max Hyper-Turbo NLHE on PokerStars on Monday for $4,979 and 132.24. The only player to drop out of the top 10 this week was Sweden's Jonatan 'Pot4teUS' Hellman who dropped from #10 to #12. 3. [caption width="640"] Fabrizio 'SixthSenSe19' Gonzalez must feel like the entire population of Sweden is breathing down his neck (SHRPO photo)[/caption] Fabrizio 'SixthSenSe19' Gonzalez is still the #1-ranked online poker player in the world but just barely. Gonzalez stayed in the top spot for the third consecutive week but #2-ranked 'lena900' closed the gap significantly. For the second straight week, Gonzalez was unable to find a score big enough to add to his PLB points total. He cashed just three times with his best finishing being a 12th-place result in the Black Chip Poker $200 Sunday Special PLO. Gonzalez's overall lead over his nearest threat is just 67.02 after some of his older scores dropped off of his total. The next four players in the rankings all come from Sweden. 'lena900' continued his grip on the #2 spot even though he had a week with no scores big enough to add to his total. The same can't be said for the man in the #3 position. 'C Darwin2' won the partypoker High Roller on February 21 for $10,331 and 208.57 points. The former #1-ranked player is now 443.02 points behind 'lena900'. The top three players have really separated themselves from the rest of the field with just 500 points separating #1 from #3. The gap between #3 and #4 is much, much wider. 'Inhoo' moved up from #5 to #4 after he finished third in the partypoker High Roller on Sunday for $14,875 and 197.99 points. Even with the move up, 'inhoo' is 1,857.22 points behind 'C Darwin2'. Rounding out the run of Swede's in the top five is Andreas 'r4ndomr4gs' Berggren at #5. Berggren, who was #6 last week, won the PokerStars Hot $215 on February 22 and then rounded out the week with another win, this time in the PokerStars $109 Six Max Hyper Turbo. All told the former #1 added 385.64 points to his total. Moving into the top 10 was yet another Swedish player. 'Ariados', who was once ranked as high as #2 in the world, moved all the way up to #6 after beating out 1,447 other players in the $109 buy-in PokerStars Sunday Cooldown. The win was worth $22,223 and 380.53 PLB points. The biggest drop of the week belonged to Bulgarian Alex 'alexd2' Dimitrov. Having owned the #4 spot the past seven weeks, Dimitrov fell all the way to #9. Despite cashing 37 times in the last week, not a single one was strong enough to add to his PLB total. The only player to fall out of the top 10 this week was Russia's 'Blackk', who dropped from #10 to #11. 4. [caption width="640"] Another week, another change atop the PocketFives Rankings as 'C Darwin2' takes back the #1 spot[/caption] Just one week ago, 'lean900' took over the #1 spot in the PocketFives Rankings after a 12-week long reign by 'C Darwin2'. That's all part of the history books now as 'C Darwin2' jumped from the #3 spot back to the #1 spot thanks to a pair of qualifying cashes. 'C Darwin2' opened his week with a fifth place finish in the partypoker Middleweight for $4,406 and 137.06 PocketFives Leaderboard points. Then, on October 11, he beat out 218 other players to win a the PokerStars Big $215 for $8,566 and 209.28 points. This is the seventh time that 'C Darwin2' has held down the #1 spot, dating back to his first reign in February 2012, for $8,565.54 and 209.28 points. 'lena900' fell to #3 largely because some of his older scores had aged out of his score. He seemingly did everything he could to hold on to the #1 spot this past week, winning the 888poker Volcano on October 10 and then finshing runner-up in the PokerStars Omania High Roller. $19,620 and 372.16 points. Moving up one spot to #2 was Steven 'SvZff' van Zedelhoff. Just two weeks after winning the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker Main Event, van Zedelhoff picked up another 693.43 points from five qualifying cashes over the past week. His biggest single score came from a runner-up finish in the PokerStars $55 Sunday Stack for $10,919 and 228.4 points. The only other change inside of the top 10 also saw two Swedes swapping places. Robin 'inhoo' Ylitalo and 'Sheater' traded the #7 and #8 spots, with Ylitalo taking #7.
