  1. Friday, January 29 will go down as a great day for Michigan online poker players. After years of waiting, Michiganders can finally play on a regulated online poker site from the comfort of their own home. PokerStars launched PokerStarsMI.com on Friday afternoon alongside their sports book product, FOX Bet Michigan, and a casino product. This comes just one week after online sports betting launched in the state. PokerStars is the first online poker product available in the state. "We welcome the addition of Odawa Casino, Poker Stars, Fox Bet and Barstool Casino to Michigan’s growing online gaming and sports wagering market," said Richard S. Kalm, MGCB executive director. "Their participation will generate revenue to support education, tribal communities and the city of Detroit." A little more than one year ago, The Stars Group, the parent company of both PokerStars and FOXBet, came to terms with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians Gaming Authority that would allow them to operate their products in Michigan under the Odawa Indians gaming license. "Behind FOX Bet Sportsbook, PokerStars and Stars Casino, customers create one account for all three apps, unlocking a wide variety of exciting and entertaining options to supercharge the experience for our Michigan audience," said Kip Levin, FOX Bet CEO. Michigan is the third state where PokerStars is available. They initially re-entered the United States market in March 2016 with the launch of PokerStarsNJ. In November of 2019, they went live in Pennsylvania. All three sites are currently ring-fenced, meaning players are only able to play against players from their own state. The Michigan gaming bill, signed into law by Governor in December 2019, does allow for Michigan to join interstate compacts like the one currently in place between Nevada and New Jersey. As has become expected practice, PokerStars is offering all new players a 100% bonus on their first deposit up to $600 using bonus code "STARS600" or a $30 free play bonus on a deposit of $20 or more using "FREE30".
