Well this should be interesting. On December 30, at the height of college bowl season, Brian tsarrastRast (pictured) and Sorel Imper1umMizzi, both poker pros, will square off in a boxing match in Las Vegas. No, not at a poker table. Instead, the pair will meet at the Syndicate MMA Gym at 6:00pm local time. All proceeds will go to the REG Charity.

Four rounds lasting two minutes each are planned, so there won’t be a lot of fighting, but in the name of charity, we’d expect a pretty vibrant crowd. How much blood will be drawn and whether EMTs will be needed remain to be seen.

Tickets are $20 for General Admission and $80 for VIP Ringside Seats for the big brawl in the desert. Buy tickets here.

Along similar lines, Rast Tweeted:

REG stands for Raising for Effective Giving and touts that poker players “use science and rational decision-making to help as many people in need as possible… We try to maximize expected value when reducing the suffering in the world.” The charity’s board includes pro poker players Liv Boeree and Philipp Gruissem.
