Today I noticed that DraftKings is holding a Millionaire Maker in MLB for the first time. It happens in two weeks from today, on the first Free Money Tuesday of the year. Free Money Tuesdays are the Tuesdays that overlap MLB and NFL seasons. All the new players drawn in for NFL feel a DFS void on Tuesdays and MLB is the only thing that can fill it. You will notice that min-cashing thresholds will go down in two weeks, and lots of those players will play in the Milly Maker too. I am very excite.

In the meantime we have plenty of action to hold our attention. Coors Field happens twice today, although the day game is irrelevant to most slates. That game starts at 1310 no-coast time, and lineups lock at 1705, and we take longer than four hours to play baseball games here in Colorado from time to time. There is a very strong chance that one or both of the Coors Field lineups will not be released before lineups lock tonight. FanDuel has responded by omitting that game from the evening slate. I’m cool with this fact because it will significantly reduce ownership percentages on both of these teams.

Tonight looks like last night but with all 30 teams in play, more options abound. There are many high octane offenses in excellent matchups tonight, beyond the Diamondbacks vs. Kyle Kendrick in Coors. Rubby de la Rosa is a gas can himself and faces the Rockies. Cody Anderson strikes guys out at a rate of 11.4% and faces Toronto at Rodgers Center… the good thing for Cody is he is a RHP and has some good numbers vs. RHB which the Blue Jays are loaded with. Aaron Harang still isn’t good carrying a 4.86 SIERA and faces the Mets who are on fire. Anthony DeSclafani gives up 16.4% soft contact, 51.8% medium, and 31.8% hard contact rates. He gets to face the Cubs at Wrigley with it’s summer breeze blowing out.

On the pitching side of things you can choose from Sale, Greinke, MadBum, Cole, and Cueto. You can go cheap with Niese, Cashner, Porcello, Banuelos, or Tillman. There’s a lot of noise tonight but I see some clear standouts from the herd, let’s dig in.

Sale is the best and it’s not even close. Leads the league in K/9, faces the Twins, who have been good at home. Some might be off him due to Twins roughing him up 3 of the 4 times he’s faced them this year, I say LOL sample size to that. Greinke and Bumgarner are both really good at pitching, but I’d rather spend up for Sale and neither have a match up that I am excited about. I almost want to stack both teams because they will be so under owned, but this game has a total of 6. Cole looks fine, but Cueto at 10.1k is my clear top $/point play in the high end. Cueto had a rough outing vs. BAL last go preceded by a bad outing @ BOS so his price has dropped considerably. He still struck out 11 while walking 1 in those 11 innings so he’s in control. His velocity is fine, LOL sample size, I’m not worried and will happily take the discount and diminished ownership with Cueto. Cashner is my clear favorite play for GPPs on the cheap end. He’s not a cash game play tonight like Colon was last night because Colon was facing the Fillies and Colon doesn’t blow up like Cashner can with his elevated hr/fb rate. Cashner gets to face Texas at home and is 6.1k. If you really want a cheap guy for cash take Niese v. Philly, but don’t expect a Colon like performance from him today, and he may be over owned due to yesterday’s game.

At catcher John Jaso is once again the play. 2.5k, usually hits 4th against RHP with his 350 wOBA agains them, unfortunately Tillman is a reverse splits pitcher; 299 wOBA v LHB and 320 v RHB. Still hard to argue with that price and the other options are less exciting. Schwarber, Castillo, Gomes, and Vogt all make GPP options with their ability to dong. I like Ben Paulsen at 1B, he’s still 3.6k due to his platoon splits. He almost always hits 5th v RHP though. Daniel Nava and Kyle Parker are nice punts also both OF eligible. It’s Chris Coghlan night again at 2B, hopefully he isn’t 25% owned like last night. Strangely there isn’t any good punt options at shortstop, maybe I pay up for Reyes or Correa? Or pick a guy who can dong like Desmond, Kang, Suarez, Peralta, or Flaherty? At 3B I like Jake Lamb especially if he hits higher than 6th. David Peralta isn’t 4.1 anymore, but he’s still cheap at 4.7k in the outfield. I like Paulsen, Dietrich, and Nava if you didn’t use them in the infield. Bourgeois and Sizemore are fine punts too.

As far as stacks go tonight I might be all in on Arizona. They are vastly superior in my projections for total fantasy points from a stack, and I think they will go way under owned. Last night they were under owned, tonight there are more options to choose from and Peralta isn’t free anymore. Even the 4th and 5th drafts of ARI stacks I am crafting have higher projections than any other stack I can make. The Pirates or the Marlins are my favorite sneaky stacks that should go overlooked tonight as well.

Catch me tonight at RotoGrinders for a live PGA podcast or download it from the tubes later. I’ll have my notes up soon.
