Gettin Daize Captures #1 Worldwide Ranking[ return to main articles page ]

Online poker tournament superstar Chris Gettin Daize Oliver took over the #1 worldwide ranking early Wednesday morning, thanks to a string of high stakes scores that began in April when he took down the PokerStars Sunday 500 for $87,900. In June, Chris won the Full Tilt Poker $1k Monday for $83,500 then took home an additional $82,500 for his final table appearance in the Stars Sunday Million weekly flagship event. More recently, Chris has a runner-up performance in the Stars $100 rebuy for $30,900 from August 8th and a July 31st victory in the Full Tilt $100k Guarantee for another $26,300. A congratulatory thread was also created early Wednesday morning in our Poker Discussion forum, recognizing Chris' accomplishment (see: Grats @ Daize). Other movements in the Top 10 PocketFives Rankings include Taylor taypaur Paur (up two to #2 worldwide) and Bjorn kleath Kleathersson (up three spots to #4).

Cliff JohnnyBax Josephy (pictured), walked away with $64,500 on August 8th as a result of his 2nd place finish in the Stars $100 rebuy, and has moved up to #11 worldwide. Jamie thecronic420 Rosen climbs six to #13 this week, as Jordan Jymaster0011 Young ascends to #14 due to his dual victories in the Full Tilt $750k Guarantee and Sunday Brawl majors on August 1st for $132,800 and $105,000 respectively. PocketFiver paulgees81 is up four to #16, Keven Stamdogg Stammen moves up five to #21, and Jeremy Chipsteela Menard advances five to #28 at online tournament play. California's brainwash continues his climb up the rankings ladder to #32 while New York's krasark is currently ranked #36.

Ryan ryanbluf Karp (pictured) has reached seven final tables so far in the month of August, and moves up 16 to #42 this week, followed by Moshin chicagocards1 Charania (up six to #44), Mike Gags30 Gagliano (up eight to #46) and Brazil's joaomathias (up 18 to #47). Massachusetts player BgsaPnaples rose 32 spots all the way up to #52 worldwide thanks to his August 15th runner-up performance in the FTOPS $240+16 NLHE Knockout event for $118,300 while Canadian Jeangrae is now ranked #57 worldwide at online tournament play.

Kyle KJulius10 Julius (pictured) breaks the Top 100 at #60 this week as a result of his three-way chop in the FTOPS $322 NLHE 6-max rebuy event on August 11th for $159,200. Stian JohnnyBelow Stabell of Norway advances 23 to #65, whitE_mAmbA rises to #66, and EMSBas breaks the Top 100 at #77. DeMaci is up 16 to #79, scnoodle climbs to #81, and princessdonk improves to #84. New to the rankings this week are Joey Capp (#86), FatsoFat6969 (#95), TheRealPokerccini (#96) and gregior (#99).
