PocketFives: Tell us your story. How did you get started in poker?

Megan Milburn: I grew up playing poker and other card games with my parents and grandparents. When I was in high school, my grandfather had a poker night every week. We would play games like Stud, Anaconda, Follow the Queen, and Baseball. When I discovered online Texas Hold’em, I was instantly hooked.

PocketFives: Give us your thoughts and experiences of regulated online poker in New Jersey.

Megan Milburn: It has had its positives and negatives for sure. Overall, I am happy to see regulated online poker coming to the US. I am excited to watch its growth and hope the other states legalize and regulate it as well.

PocketFives: What has been your most memorable cash or win on the New Jersey websites?

Megan Milburn: My most memorable cash was when I won the WSOP $10,000 Guarantee for the first time. I was sick in my hotel room at Borgata and it was one of my first times playing on the site. It reignited my passion for online poker and made me excited that it was back in the US. If Borgata would ever let me survive the last two tables of the $100,000 Guarantee, it would probably be my favorite cash.

PocketFives: What are your favorite New Jersey online poker sites to play and why?

Megan Milburn: I like all three sites and play on all of them, but if I had to pick one as my favorite, it would probably be WSOP, but I do love Borgata’s Sunday tournaments. What I am really waiting for is for PokerStars to finally come to New Jersey. I assume they would immediately become my favorite site to play on.

PocketFives: Do you feel online poker has improved your live play? If so, how?

Megan Milburn: I don’t play as many live tournaments as I do online, but I do believe it has helped somewhat. My experience playing online has definitely made me more comfortable playing different stack sizes live. Playing a lot of online poker has made me more aggressive and more comfortable playing an aggressive style in a live setting.

PocketFives: What do you do away from poker? What else interests you?

Megan Milburn: My favorite thing to do in this world is travel. I fancy myself an explorer and would like to see as much of the world as possible. I love immersing myself in new cultures and trying different cuisines. Besides traveling and food, I’m just like every other human. I enjoy long naps, hit series like “Game of Thrones,” hiking, and spending time with my family and friends.
