It’s hard to believe we’re almost to the halfway point of August. Ten days in and there has already been a $132,000 winner at the high-stakes online poker tables, according to HighStakesDB. His name: spaise411.

HighStakesDB began tracking spaise411 in mid-May 2014 and, since then, he has logged over 40,000 hands. The results: so far not profitable, as over those 40,000 hands, spaise411 has dropped $170,000. He was up slightly in May 2014, but has largely been on a downswing since.

We say “largely” because since the month of August began, spaise411 is up $132,000, basically cutting his tracked losses on PokerStars in half. For his career, he has profited in Pot Limit Omaha and Draw Games, while he has not been so fortunate at Omaha High-Low.

His biggest pot played came in May 2014 in a hand against high-stakes pro Dan Cates (pictured) and was worth $38,000. In that hand, which occurred at a $50/$100 Pot Limit Omaha table, Cates was all-in on the river of a board showing 2-3-J-7-3. spaise411 turned over J-J-4-K for a full house and Cates mucked.

So far in August, spaise411 has recorded seven sessions totaling 2,253 hands. He has booked an average profit of $18,893 per session and $58 per hand.
