A field of 542 runners showed up for the World Poker Tour’s Seminole Hard Rock Showdown, which was held in Hollywood, Florida. After the final cards were dealt on Tuesday, longtime PocketFiver Kevin 1SickDisease Eyster (pictured) walked away with $660,000 for the win. He entered the final table as the chip leader.

Eyster has been on an absolute tear as of late. Last month, he was the runner-up in the WSOP Circuit Main Event in Black Hawk for $85,000. Online, he won the FTOPS Two-Day Eventfor $333,000 officially, meaning that he has booked over $1 million in cashes in the last three weeks. Lest we forget that he won two FTOPS titles in December for nearly $100,000 total.

“It’ll hit me in a few days because that’s pretty unexplainable,” Eyster told WPT officials following his victory in Florida. “You can go from zero to hero in a few weeks. It goes to show it can happen to anyone. It’s like a little mini-Moneymaker story. I’m pretty excited it has happened.”

Also at the final table of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown was Eyster’s close friend and roommate Zo Karim, whom Eyster dispatched after making two pair on the river to crack aces. On facing Karim, Eyster contended, “My #1 goal is to win the tournament. I registered it to win, not to help him out, so I am here trying to take him out just like everyone else.” Karim ultimately landed in third place for $252,000.

Heads-up, Eyster took on Ben Tarzia and started off with a nearly 4:1 edge in chips. Eyster never let up, winning seven straight pots down the stretch to widen his margin to 5:1. “I never know what people read on me,” he said of Tarzia’s heads-up play. “I know what he thinks of me, but I never know where he’s at most of the time. As for heads-up, I felt my only edge was that I have a lot of experience heads-up, so I felt like that would be just enough to beat anyone at this table.”

In the final hand of the tournament, Tarzia was all-in with 7-7 before the flop in a race against Eyster’s A-10 of clubs. Eyster found an ace on the flop and hit a 10 on the river for good measure to claim the title. Prior to the final table, he Tweeted, “Most sleep all tourney. 8 hrs still so drained. Wasn’t sure if I was still dreaming when I pulled white Kleenex out of box and yellow followed.”

Here’s how the final table of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown cashed out:

1. Kevin Eyster – $660,395
2. Ben Tarzia – $389,750
