Nevada Weekend Tournament Review for October 6, 2014
This weekend in Nevada, eleven PocketFives members made it to the final tables but only one, LuckSackGMZtook down a tournament. Derek Gomez (pictured, ranked #10 in Nevada) won the Ultimate Poker Sunday $10K event, winning $2,900. Overall, PocketFives members took home over $9K by cashing in thirteen events.
WSOP.com kicked off its weekend with seven major events including The Weekend Warm-Up $5,000 Guarantee and the Re-Entry R&A $3,000 Guarantee on Saturday and the FreezeOut and $15,000 Weekly Sunday Guarantee. On Friday night, the $3K event did not run. Two of the seven events did not meet the guarantees creating overlays totaling over $1,000.
WSOP.com had 424 runners vying for the 59 available prizes totaling $38,287.
The player with the highest individual cash was Problem4U in the Sunday $15,000 for $4,481 making his first ever final table in 2014.
This weekend saw Ultimate Poker run four major events. There were 155 runners fighting for the 20 prize spots available, totaling $16,002. Three of the four events did not meet their guarantees creating overlays totaling $1,806. Three of the four events were won by two players making their first appearance at a final table this year: pordan and elwell.
The player with the highest individual cash was DeadSpread in the Sunday $10,000 for $2,900. That event had an overlay of $1,446 as the guarantee was not met. With over $9K in winnings on Ultimate Poker and $46K on WSOP.com, ‘LuckSackGMZ’ now has over $55K in winnings for 2014.
