On Thursday, PartyPokerreleased its new poker software. Developers were finalizing the rollout last week and, on Thursday, it came to fruition. The new PartyPoker software was originally aimed at new poker players and is equipped with a “Quick Seat” feature to help customers get to a table.

Helping players coming up in the game is one feature of the new PartyPoker software. According to Pokerfuse, “Achievementsis perhaps the most intriguing [new feature]. Players can assign themselves certain missions, from ‘play your first real money hand’ and ‘knock out an opponent in a SNG’ to more advanced tasks like ‘play three tournaments in a row.’ Each is designed to increase play and encourage players to try new games. A core feature of many free-play social titles, such real money integration, has only previously been seen in Full Tilt Poker’s Academy prior to Black Friday.” There are hidden achievements for you to unlock initially.

A one-click lobby allows players to get seated quickly and updates from friends allow you to see what others are up to. As PartyPoker officials put it, “We’ve made the game more social than ever.” As Pokerfuse explained, “A ‘news feed‘ presumably shows you the latest from your friends like their new missions set or achievements gained. Players can create their own profiles, although this feature, as were many others in this early play test, was unavailable at the time of writing.”

Mac and Windows versions of the new software are available. The new PartyPoker has also been rolled out for PartyPoker’s mobile customers on Android and iOS devices. PartyPoker officials are teasing a new tournament scheduleto be launched in the coming weeks. In addition, the site’s hand history replayer allows review of your last 100 hands. There’s also still an Instant Play option.

On PocketFives, the reviews of the new PartyPoker were mixed. One PocketFiver alluded to new fees imposed, saying, “Looks like they didn’t reimburse anyone that got hit with fees and complained they had no notice of the new rule on their existing balance.” A variety of login issues were also reported.

Another player had a more positive experience, saying, “I just finished playing a few MTTs. I like the new software. Looks much better and for me does run better so far. It was a little slow when first loaded, but after that, it seems okay to me. However, it’s not groundbreaking at all. Seems like they have updated the graphics and a few of the bugs.”

PartyPoker’s website has also received a makeover, with quick links to “Get Started,” “How to Play,” and “What’s Going On” across the top. The main PartyPoker promotions are listed across the middle and, at the time of writing, include a New Player Bonus, the network’s weekly $200,000 Guaranteed, and qualifiers for WPT Montreal.

According to PokerScout, PartyPoker is the fifth largest network worldwide and owns a seven-day running average of 2,000 real money ring game players with a 24-hour peak of 3,558. It’s in a virtual deadlock in traffic with 888 Poker. Let us know your thoughts on PartyPoker’s new software by commenting here. Visit PartyPoker for more details.
