In June, most of the tournament action around the continent is happening in Las Vegas to accommodate all of the players heading to the World Series of Poker. InterPokerhas been securely dealing cards since 2002. The recently re-launched site offers a wide array of promotionslike $10 cash free for new players as well as a 25K race for SnG players. WSOP qualifiers are also running now. Check out the new and improved InterPoker.

East

The Borgata in Atlantic City (pictured above) will be hosting its Borgata Summer Open from June 4 to June 21. The series is comprised of 19 events with buy-ins ranging from $230 to $2,700. With much of the stronger competition away at the WSOP, this is a good time to capitalize on the softer fields and take down some events. And it’s really the only large event available on the East Coast.

West

This is the one time each year that the aging and slightly rundown Rio becomes center of the poker universe when the 44th annual World Series of Poker returns through July 15. This year, 62 bracelet events will be offered that will include a $111,111 One Drop event as well as a $1,111 Little One for One Drop. Event #6 will be a $1,500 Millionaire Maker that will make the prize pool top-heavy, guaranteeing $1 million for first place. The Rio will also house daily deep stack tournaments that offer big prize pools for a small buy-in as well as a multitude of cash games.

As if this wasn’t enough chaos to pack into the Rio, Caesars Entertainment has decided to host another tournament series, the Carnivale of Poker, from June 3 to July 14. This series is actually resurrected from one that ran at the Rio from 1998 to 2000. The series will feature 21 events and give out gold and diamond medallions as trophies. In addition, $100,000 will be split among the top 10 point-earners, so you get some extra value if you can play in lots of these events. The buy-ins will range from $250 to $5,000, so even players with moderate bankrolls should be able to afford several events.

Elsewhere in Vegas, the Venetian vies for the hearts and tournament entries of poker players with its Deep Stack Extravaganza, which runs until July 21. With 215 events over 60 days and buy-ins ranging from $200 to $5,000, there should be something for everyone. These events always draw large fields and can be a good alternative to the WSOP.

Caesars Palace is hosting its Mega Stack series from May 14 to July 14. There will be 103 events with buy-ins ranging from $130 to $1,080. Most of the events have lower buy-ins and the 4:00pm events offer Omaha and other tournament variants.

The Wynn brings back its Summer Classic from June 7 to June 26. The series will spread eight events with buy-ins ranging from $440 to $5,180. The Wynn always runs nice events and has decent structures.

At another high-class establishment, the Aria Poker Classic will offer 27 events with buy-ins from $150 to $1,080. The Aria is a favorite among Vegas grinders for the cash games and also puts on some quality tournaments.

You can also head downtown for some low rent poker goodness. Binion’s, the place where it all began, is running the Binion’s Poker Classic from May 25 to July 7. There will be 47 events with buy-ins ranging from $125 to $1,000. Or, stop by the Grand Poker Series at the Golden Nugget from June 1 to July 4. There will be 80 events with buy-ins from $125 to $1,080.

The M Resort closes out the month in Vegas with its Hollywood Poker Open Championship from June 28 to June 30. Properties around the country have been qualifying people for this $2,500 event with $500,000 guaranteed for several months now, so there may be a large field.

Some California rooms are offering series to entice players to play without heading to Nevada. The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens finishes hosting the Card Player Poker Tour on June 3 and then immediately starts the L.A. Poker Series on June 4, which runs until June 27. The L.A. Poker Series features 23 events with buy-ins from $75 to $1,100. It’s mostly NLHE, but there are also a couple of Omaha events as well as a HORSE tournament.

Bay 101 in San Jose, California is hosting the Bay 101 Summer Madness from June 11 to June 15. This is a small series of five events with buy-ins from $345 to $550.

South

The Horseshoe in Tunica, Mississippi is putting on the Horseshoe Summer Classic from June 7 to June 16. The series consists of 13 events with buy-ins ranging from $130 to $560.
