There wasn’t a lot of movement in the top 10 of the PocketFives Poker Rankingsthis week. Instead, the major plotline involved Chris moorman1 Moorman (pictured), the most decorated PocketFiver in history, who is just 63 PLB Points away from overtaking the #1 spot. Moorman was last ranked #1 in December 2013 for the span of a week.

The current #1 is still Sweden’s Lukas lukethafluke Berglund, who has been perched atop the community since February 5. Berglund has 7,776 PLB Points, whereas Moorman holds 7,713. We could see a changing of the guard as soon as next Wednesday when the Rankings are recalculated again depending on how these two heavyweights of poker perform over the next seven days.

Moorman recently logged his 20th PocketFives Triple Crown, the most of anyone on the site, and finished second in the Full Tilt Poker $1K Saturday last weekend for $17,000 and 199 PLB Points. One week before that, on February 15, he finished third in the same tournament and earned $16,000 and 184 PLB Points. We think he is probably licking his chops at this weekend’s $1K Saturday, which could put him over the top, all else equal.

Reentering the top 10 worldwide at #7 this week was jdpc27, who formerly could be found at #12. This Mexico resident finished third in the PokerStars Super Tuesday on February 11 and earned $66,000 along with 419 PLB Points. He has 7,014 PLB Points overall and is the top-ranked player in Mexico.

Also reentering the top 10 worldwide was Vinkyy (pictured), a former #1 player who moved up from #16 worldwide to #9. Vinkyy took down the Full Tilt Turbo Hundo over the weekend and raked in $20,000. He’s at $5.2 million in tracked scores and is just 48 in the money finishes away from #5,000.

Rising 17 spots to #16 was ekziter. This is the highest he has ever appeared in the Rankings and comes on the heels of a runner-up performance in the PokerStars Bigger $162 over the weekend for $32,000 and a third place finish the same day in the site’s $265 No Limit Hold’em Knockout for $10,000. On February 16, ekziter finished second in the Full Tilt Super Sized Sunday and collected $28,000.

Jumping 20 spots to settle at #44 was Lithuania’s Merceko, the top-ranked player in the Eastern European country. Merceko has wins in the PokerStars $2.22 Rebuy and $109 Rebuy in the last five days for a combined $27,000 and 577 PLB Points.

Finally, we wanted to single out Sweden’s mezzias, who entered the top 100 at #68, the highest debut for anyone. He is one of a dozen PocketFives members from Sweden in the top 100 of the Rankings. In fact, Swedes make up four of the top six worldwide. Mezzias has $1.2 million in tracked winnings and is the top-ranked player in the city of Skovde.
