Event #22 of the ongoing World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, a $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball tournament, attracted 228 players and shelled out a first place prize of $145,000. In the end, Randy mavsrule3 Ohel (pictured), who has been a member of PocketFives since its first year in operation back in 2005, took home his first gold bracelet in just his fourth career WSOP cash.

Ohel edged out Benjamin Lazer heads-up in what the WSOP live coverage team called “one of the most epic duels in World Series of Poker history.” The heads-up matched lasted over six hours and “the chip lead changed sides so many times we lost count. Both players had 90% of the chips in play at least twice each, but both somehow managed to fight their way back from fumes on each occasion.”

The action concluded after 2:00am local time at the Rio in Las Vegas after one estimate had the chip lead changing hands 14 times.

Lazer, who was playing in his first WSOP event, drew a pair of fives on the final hand to bust in second place and earn $89,000. Ohel recorded the first six-figure live tournament cash of his career, according to the Hendon Mob. Prior to Tuesday, his largest live score to date was worth $67,000 and came by virtue of winning a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event during the 2009 L.A. Poker Classic.
