Only five WSOP events remain that start in July, but they are some of the best. The Little One for One Drop starts on July 3, the $10K PLO starts on July 5, and then the Main Event starts on the July 6 and runs until July 15. Of course, if you bust out of the Main Event, you can still play in the Carnivale of Poker, which is also running at the Rio. The COP has events starting until July 14. Highlights include the $1,675 Main Event, a $1,125 NLHE event, and a $5,000 Open Face Chinese event. Maybe this will help the halls of the Rio seem less lonely as players run deep in the WSOP Main Event.

The Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza continues until July 21. The $5,000 Main Event starts on July 13 and lots of other events of varying buy-ins and formats are available. This could offer a good change of pace for players tired of grinding at the Rio.

Just down the road, the Caesars Palace Mega Stack Series runs through July 14. With two events each day, there are still lots of options for grinders. The $1,080 Championship event starts July 9.

In Downtown Las Vegas, the Grand Poker Series runs until July 4. You still have time to play the $1,080 Poker Shark Championship event as well as the $600 Poker Player Newspaper Championship. Also, the Binion’s Poker Classic runs through July 7. There’s a $1,000 NLHE event on July 1 and smaller events each day after that.

If you bust out from the WSOP Main Event and are looking for some higher buy-in action, you can play the Bellagio Cup, which runs from July 5 to July 15. There are eight events with buy-ins from $1,080 to $10,300.

Up in Reno, the Grand Sierra Resort is hosting the Summer Pot of Gold series. The series consists of 23 events with buy-ins ranging from $160 to $1,100. There are lots of small buy-in events, so this should be good for those with a small bankroll.

The CardPlayer Poker Tour stops at the Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma (pictured) from July 18 to August 5. There will be 46 events with buy-ins ranging from $125 to $1,620. It’s mostly NLHE, but there are a couple of Omaha events thrown in as well.

The Mid-States Poker Tour returns to the Meskwaki Casino in Tama, Iowa from July 20 to July 28. The $1,100 Main Event has a $300,000 guarantee and this stop usually generates around $90,000 for first place. The final table will be live streamed using the same RFID technology used for the WSOP this year.

The Isle Casino Pompano Park (pictured) is hosting the Florida State Poker Championship from July 11 to July 30. There will be 18 events with buy-ins ranging from $150 to $2,500. The $2,500 Main Event will feature a $500,000 guarantee and the series boasts over $1 million in guarantees.

Also in Florida, the Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs is offering the Tampa Down Summer Series. The series has nine events with buy-ins from $120 to $540. You can also earn credits to the PPC Aruba in October.

The Gold Strike Casino in Tunica, Mississippi hosts the World Poker Open from July 18 to July 29. Buy-ins for the 13 events start at $135 and go up $2,500 for the Championship event. In addition to Hold’em, there is Seven Card Stud and Omaha offered.

The Ante Up Poker Tour World Championship will be held at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in the tropical paradise of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. There will be 15 events during the week, culminating in a two-day $1,100 Main Event. There are a variety of formats offered and if you bust out, you can always sip on a drink by the pool.
