Taking Some Time Off – Back To Square One

I'm taking a vacation from Stars, and SNG's. I need the mental break, and want to come back to SNG's with the same zest I had when I first started the SNG Challenge.

I play now "professionally" (whatever that means) – so I'm trying my very best to view this as "Vacation Weeks", so that I can come back to the game and put my old strategies to use to make some dough again.

Lately, I've been all over the map – basically going against everything I preach. I've been playing way fewer SNG's (terrible idea), more MTT's (some success) and even stupidly playing games I don't know correct strategies at (Stud, Omaha etc.) It's pretty clear to me where my bread and butter is.

I'm happy to announce that I will be starting back at square. Yep, starting with exactly $200 and playing the $10+1's again. I'm going to attempt to build it into $5,000 within one month. Why am I happy about it? Because my game needs some more work! Practice, practice, practice! I'm actually very excited about the proposition I've put up for myself.

Rest assured, it is not a matter of "blowing my bankroll" and HAVING to start again. I have the roll to play comfortably at the $30's. However, I want to propose the challenge to any pocketfiver to start the SNG Challenge with me in a few weeks. I will write a detailed blog on how the new SNG Challenge will work, and how I hope everyone will join in believing that you CAN build a bankroll at low limits with dedication, patience, and discipline.

However, I will be "cheating" of sorts, because I won't start playing again until I have a dual monitor system set up. I really can't play 1 or 2 or even 4 at a time, it just doesn't work for me. I need to Zone In Zone Out as I call it – and I can't wait to play 8 at a time. I think it's going to be difficult, as Sheets mentioned, but I think I can handle it. That's also why I want to start out at the $10's – to make sure I CAN handle it without a noticeable loss in bankroll in case things go poorly.

I'm going to compare the numbers and crunch 'em to figure out which is really better for me – 4 tabling or 8 tabling. I eventually hope to hook the 3rd monitor up and 12-table – a goal for Christmas time.

During my "break", I'm most likely going to be trying out a few other sites to get a feel for the software. No SNG challenges or anything, but I want to play some MTT's with less people – ie) FullTilt, RoyalVegas. Probably give the Rounders steps another shot too.

I will still be online all the time, and most likely will still be playing a lot – but probably not on Stars. Want to switch things up so things aren't so monotonous. If you are a FullTilter, hopefully I'll see you guys in some of the late night tournaments, cause I hear they run pretty much every hour for like $20+2's, f'ing sweet.

I have some other projects on the go right now, so I'm going to try to focus on that. Please don't ask me what they are on the main board, as I've talked to Adam about this and it's not a good idea right now. 🙂 But like I say, if you have any questions about anything – please feel free to email me or add me on msn (gidderbomb@hotmail.com) and we can talk some poker and try to work out some strategies.

Anyways, the point of this post is to basically wish everyone good luck for the next couple of weeks (all my Stars buddies!) while I get prepared for my new apartment, and basically start having fun as a 19 year old. I've earned it! 😀

Good luck to everyone, please feel free to keep emailing me anything you want to talk to me about – as I love responding and getting some feedback from everyone :).

Take care, comb your hair
