Tournament Review for May 25, 2015
It was a huge weekend for tournament players with the wrap-up of the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) on PokerStars. Most of Sunday’s SCOOP events were two-day events scheduled to end on Monday, May 25.
Sweden’s Anton AntesvanteWigg is making his case to continue to move up the PocketFives Rankings, where he hit a personal high last week at #20. He will likely set a new high when the new Rankings are released on Wednesday thanks to winning the Sunday 500 on PokerStars for $90,356.
Other PocketFivers appearing on the final table in this tournament were Colombia’s Farid farid1221xJattin (second place for $65,438), Denmark’s Richard Bull1969Loth (fifth place for $25,913), Finland’s Sami LarsLuzakKelopuro (sixth place for $20,678), and American poker refugee Nathan darkcheck_ Tuthill (ninth place for $5,759).
PocketFivers dominated the PokerStars Sunday $109 Rebuy, with six members making an appearance on the final table. Romania’s tilt21stedled the way, finishing in first place of the 1,274–player field for $67,343.
Also with big scores in this tournament were Germany’s Giuseppe LeChiffre19Pantaleo (third place $36,900), Canada’s Jonas donut604Mackoff (fifth place for $19,373), Portugal’s Sergio trujustrusCabrera (sixth place for $15,683), Mexico’s dunc13(seventh place $11,993), and Argentina’s Leandro leopeluca Csome (eighth place for $8,303).
tilt21sted’s big day didn’t end here, as he also was the PocketFiver with the highest finish in the Winamax High Roller, finishing in second place for $10,760.
Over on PartyPoker, it was Denmark’s Mr Longhit acting as the lone representative of the PocketFives community on the final table of the $200K Guarantee with a second place finish for $22,780.
