Justin Bonomo became an online poker superstar nearly overnight in 2005 as he worked his way up to high stakes single table Sit & Go tournaments on PartyPoker. With the creation of his website, zeejustin.com, which contained trip reports, Blogs and strategy, Justin was one of the first modern-day professionals to receive the respect of the online poker community.

His first major accomplishment was to (almost single-handedly) spark mainstream interest in grinding high stakes Sit & Go tournaments on various sites. When PartyPoker skins EmpirePoker and Eurobet pooled their players, ZeeJustin created a blog entry stating he would attempt to make $30,000 in one month playing only $200+$15 Sit & Go's. He achieved his goal and instantly became recognized as one of the best in the game.

Justin had a large amount of success in major online tournaments; winning the PokerStars Sunday Million along with high stakes rebuy events. However, in February 2006, only two weeks removed from the "JJProdigy" multi-account scandal, "ZeeJustin" was banned from PartyPoker for logging onto a total of six accounts (at the same time) from one computer, and playing more than one account in the same multi-table tournament. PartyPoker confiscated his funds and banned him from their site. Justin was subsequently banned from other poker sites, and received a large amount of criticism from online poker players around the world.

When the "multi-accounting" issue first flooded online forums, the initial reaction from the online poker community was somewhat mixed. However, the mathematics behind a top-tier player gaining an unfair advantage when playing more than one account in a multi-table tournament was subsequently posted by members of the community. There was also the issue of a multi-accounter periodically having two accounts seated at the same table; enabling that person to see the hole cards of two players in a single hand.

In early '06, Justin denied wrongdoing and lashed out at other players who hadn't been caught. His denials were met with more criticism, and eventually he admitted to having multi-accounted on more than one site. As he began to play more major live events, it became evident that ZeeJustin had world-class talent. However, he received minimal-to-zero press coverage due to his shy demeanor and unwillingness to openly discuss his past actions. One of his first video interviews regarding the issue came in December 2006 at the Bellagio Five Diamond Main Event, where he appeared by many in the industry to harbor more regret for multi-accounting than bitterness for getting caught.

To an extent, Justin Bonomo has been forgiven by many of his past critics through a combination of his poker intelligence and general attitude. Today, he's regarded by many to be one of the elite poker talents in the world and has had final table appearances in several major live tournaments. He signed a sponsorship deal with Bodog in 2008; instantly becoming one of that site's most popular pros. In April '09, PokerStars unbanned ZeeJustin.

Justin's live poker tournament accomplishments are quite impressive. He has a 5th place finish in the 2009 WSOP Event #2 ($40,000 NLHE) for over $413,000 along with a win in the Caesar's Palace Circuit Event for $227,700 from April '09. His runner-up performance in the 2008 $5k Mixed Holdem WSOP was worth another $230k.
